Zach vs competition……

Will JD, Saleh and the rest of the balloon heads hand Zach the starters mantle for 2022, or are we going to bring in legit competition for him? Sadly, I believe it will be the former and not the latter. Bring in a legit competitor like a Trubiski, Foles, Teddy, or Minshew, Zach will probably lose. Unfortunately, with this mindset, we are going to have a hard time attracting FA at positions of need, and the team will suck balls again. I realize you may not like a #2 overall pick being a medium term backup (2 to 4 yrs), but to compound the problem by trotting out a lessor option (Zach) because of his draft position is a horrible injustice to the remainder of the team as well as the fucking fans …. I want to win and I’m tired of being told to go fuck myself when I wear my Jets hoodie to the goddam gas station

if ZacK doesn't start to improve before seasons end, how many guys here want to see him handed the starting job next year?

I work with guys who don't even follow sports, but they know that the Jets are a joke and remind me regularly. more than tired of it

the entitled brat will be handed the keys to castle but who is going to be his backup?

Josh Johnson who is literally his elder self?
Joe Flacco who can teach him, but needs a walker?
Mike White who is a RFA, that another team may try to sign?
Won't be Captain Morgan unless they bring him back?
Could draft someone on day 3?
Convert Jeff Smith back to Quarterback, so they have a wildcat QB on the roster that will never see the field?
We will see how the job is handled...

And if the Jets were to bring in another young QB, it should be after the rest of the roster has been built up. Let Zach try to progress. If he fails to make gains into seasons 2 and 3, like Sam, then you move on.

not true...Saleh addressed that when they brought Flacco in. They tried for him, but he thought he had a chance to start with PHIL. They made attempts to get him and others, but the interest wasn't there for the price we got Flacco for in a trade, or in FA.

Every Running back had to learn their plays in the new offense...not pretty to start.

Every OLinmen had to learn their assignments in the new offense. ...not pretty to start.

A Rookie QB has to learn all of plays for the RB's, the WR's, the TE's, the assignments of the OL, the speed of the NFL, the complexities of coverages of D's in the NFL, and how to use his skill sets within a new offense......not pretty to start.

so, the RB's, the WR's, the TE's, and the OL are rounding into shape faster than the Rook...go figure.
so, we should scrap him, because it's taking him longer? that is LUDICROUS.

i suggest watching him to see if the picks are coming down, if unnecessarily throwing into tight windows are coming down, if the reads are getting better, if he is getting the O in and out of huddles into the plays faster, if he is attempting to check down...he is getting better at all of them.

1.) the worm burner throws have to stop and i bet they will...i wager we will not see them at MIA, and feel free to roast me if he throws any!
2.) the arrant passes have to stop...he needs to use better fundamentals; no arguments here. that will be this year and next as the speed of the NFL slows down, and he reacts better.

Lastly, before sending him to the trash heap, i suggest that his playmakers make a freakin' play for him when he needs them to bail him out. i have a feeling that he is suffering a bit of "how do i place the ball perfectly into their hands syndrome", because of drops, lack of adjustments to a ball, not knowing routes, etc.

That was a good example. He was put in a good situation. As the talent around him eroded, his game was not good enough to compensate.

Zack will be the starting quarterback in 2022 barring injury. He will get year 2 and 3 to grow and hopefully improve. I didn't want him pre draft, but he was the choice and I will support him and hope for growth and improvement. Worse case is he fails and we draft a QB to a more complete roster, then have the luxury of adding high end FAs.

If we’re not going to move forward with Mike White as the backup I would like to see us take a mid round flyer on a QB .

The organization wanted to give Wilson as many reps as possible to get him ready for the season. Having a veteran QB around then would have taken away valuable reps that we now know this kid desperately needed . At the end of training camp the Jets added veteran Josh Johnson in time for the last preseason game and he turned into an excellent backup

If you can place a young QB in a good situation, they have a chance to grow into the position.

not saying he will rise to their career achievements, but that's what happened with Ben in PITT and Brady in NE. they were there to hand off and pick up a 3rd down when needed...they went to SB's with that recipe.
