I am hoping the organization continues with White in the picture on the active roster, whether he is the #2 or not. He seems to have had an exceptionally short leash, where one bad game derailed everything. I still think the jury is out with him.

I hope they give him the original tender tag, just in case a team wants to sign him we get rewarded with that 5th round pick...

Original-round tender: One-year contract worth the greater of (a) $2.183 million or (b) 110 percent of the player's prior-year base salary. Draft-choice compensation: a pick in the round the player was originally drafted in.

Right-of-first-refusal tender: One-year contract worth $2.133 million. Team has the right to match any offer sheet signed with another team, but there is no draft compensation tied to this tender.

I think the Jets signing of Joe Flacco had an adverse effect on the play of Mike White . He had that wonderful game then he got injured that 2nd game and Johnson played great . White knew Flacco was going to get a shot and tried to cement his spot as the backup by forcing the issue instead of doing what he did prior. He took more shots down field, held onto the ball longer and it cost him .

It would take a miracle for him to get another shot this year but I hope the Jets bring him back.

Mike White had the adverse effect on Mike White .......too much is being made of his day vs Cincy where the defense gave him the checkdowns ALL day and they inexplicably didn't adjust one bit. Now he deserves credit for hitting his marks and making some plays but once that was taken away in subsequent play/games, he was greatly exposed. I'll leave it at we need to see more but let's not make it more than work in progress.

I'm good with a trio of Wilson-Flacco-White in 2022
have to wonder if White gets a tender and does a team sign him to an offer sheet will the Jets match or let him walk?
does Flacco want to come back, or retire?

variables are wide open at this point, might be Wilson & draft pick

The game that Mike White started where he got injured I was at work and didn’t see any of the game. I do remember someone telling me that he was making some nice throws and looked like he was reading the defense nicely.
Now I could be totally wrong and the guy might not be worth squat, but I refused to dismiss the guy simply because he took what the defense gave him and looked decent doing it . The last game that guy started anyone watching the game without bias could see that he was forcing throws into coverage.

he wasn't forcing per say he was ripping it a little too harshly to his backs that couldn't catch and tipped them for the pick...
he throws hard but doesn't have the deep ball strength reason why Dallas waived him... They wanted a big arm talent behind Dak, just because that was the game plan to take deep shots and his game albeit a solid pocket passer he wasn't going to wow anyone with his long ball ability...

remember the criticism towards Chad Pennington, well literally that is Mike White's comparison but like Wilson had no in game experience at this level so dink an dunk worked but he needed to be more precise that next outing which he wasn't he started to push the ball rather than guide it to his receivers and give them that chance to catch n run...

The Bengals must have thought Wilson was playing. Giving Wilson just check downs will lead to 5 INT's and 35% completion.

100%

Cincy gave him the flats & underneath and #5 made the TE's and RB's his number one options.
BUFF stuffed the box and clogged the lanes, and took the flats & underneath away.

That was a good example. He was put in a good situation. As the talent around him eroded, his game was not good enough to compensate.
right. he lost 2 very good offensive lineman among other things. hard to recover or get better if your line gets worse
