I have been a die hard since 1977. And I look at the negative posts from the Jets faithful on this site.
Hey, I get it. And for a-lot of the younger and newer Jets fans. This is rock bottom.
Yes, we have had a few bad years, and a change was needed. Thank goodness WJ saw the obvious and made a complete 360 in this organization.
Just wanted to give you all a ray of hope.
My best friend played for both the best and the worst teams in the history of the Jets.
And if you think the 2009-2010 teams were the best? Not even close. 2009, we back doored our way into the playoffs when the Colts decided to sit their starters in week 16 and the Bengals sat theirs week 17. We were a shaky 7-7heading into those games. 2010- we lost 3 of our last 5 games. We got hot enough and our D kept us alive in both playoff runs.
My point is what my friend and I discuss at length. It's the culture of the team and the head coach's intensity.
In 1996, the Jets went 1-15 led by Rich Kotite. The stories would blow your mind.
Only 2 years later, the 1998 Jets went 12-4 and should've reached the SB. That was the Bill Parcells led Jets. A winner, and a team that practiced and played hard. Every week. A team that had a winning culture and a team that constantly had try outs, even when the team had a first round bye.
I know that Idzick, really took this team back last season. He spent no money on team needs, he wanted Rex to fail. He got his wish. He also took 12 draft picks and produced 2 players with upside. And made us into a joke in many other areas. Idzick is gone, and MM with Bowles are both very respected in the NFL.
Have faith and let the 53 man develop before panicking.
This is a great time to be a Jet!!!
