Not gonna blame him since there is no guarantee the play works with Berrios. If true, he definitely can learn from it.
all I know right now the Jets pick is No. 3
depending on new strength of schedule because of the record the Seattle pick could be No. 7 - 9
the best I can do until tonight when majority of the games are done...
lets not worry about draft position means nothing at this point, one more game to go for us..
I look at it this way. A top 3 pick will either give us one of the top 2 Offensive Linemen, Edge Rushers or a trade down to acquire more top 2 rounds of Draft Capital for this year and next year. Seattle's pick may well give us a much needed Linebacker.

Then everyone says, 'Why didn't you take the open A-gap?' It goes both ways."

Since I was lucky enough for my stream to fail, what is the opinion on going for 4th down? I think at 4-11, going for it was a good call. Shows faith in the team and also nothing to lose. Sounds like a bad decision or bad play call, but from what I saw this team deserved to close out the game.
lack of communication from O.C. to QB because the play was to Berrios but given the option Zach called his own number reason why Saleh called out his coaching staff in the post game...
he knows like I have been saying you can not give him a chance he will always call his own number because he wants to be the HERO...
Braxton was making plays all game long and one could say Zach wanted some recognition like the key play to salt the game away...
I won't kill him for that one play.
you do realize that one could, instead of negatively calling it a Hero Mentality "trying to get adoration and glory", that person could positively see him as a 22 year old kid willing to take all of the pressure off of his teammates by putting it squarely on his back?
after listening to him for a season, the only "me" i am sensing/feeling is self awareness in his own shortcomings...while he knows fully well that his performance week in and week out, will be the one singled out when the offense is doing poorly.
The OC made a beautiful call. TB had a goal line D out there, and Zach F'd up with a poor recognition. I got a 10 out 10, or even a 100% for the rest of his career recognizing that difference if the situation ever presents itself again.
Last thought... i hope that Saleh and LaFleur slaughter him this week over this! He deserves it given the D and the play call; it was set up for #10 to walk in, but i am happy they have that teachable moment and they "did not" take the option away; I don't want a game manager as our QB. I want one who will be able to draw on this to make the correct call in the future.
I want a game manager that knows how to do the little things PERFECTLY...
I want a quarterback that has the ability to take the top off defenses when he draws them in with the boring shit...
I want a quarterback that knows his role and understands the circumstances and doesn't try to win the game when there is another option...
I want a quarterback to develop with his team mates and not try to be a HERO in critical situations...
When Zach admits and stops the HERO shituations then he can be that guy that is a HERO without doing the dumb stuff...
glad we are on the same page. the only difference is in seeing how much progress he's made towards those facets of a complete QB and just how close he is.

I'm going for the Michael Jordan option......best player should want to make the play - in this case it was ill advised but I'm 100% fine wanting the ball as long as you play within the parameters of the offense. In time you want experience to teach your best players the best spots to 'take the last shot'.

I have zero reason to believe he ignored a call. Miscommunication amongst rookies led to this - all get the blame.
I tend to agree with this.
I'll go one step further - to me what happened here was giving the rookie the option to audible.........and any experienced coach would know a rookie hasn't seen this situation to know how to call it. Kid made an error - that was allowed by the coaches. Zach is a dumbass for thinking you can sneak 2 yards and not recognizing the defensive set as goal line. Coaches failed by not putting their players in the best position to succeed - their basic duty as coaches.
