What did Jets QB Zach Wilson do wrong

I have been saying this all year long and prior to the draft...
so for them to come out and say this cements my position on this kid's process of thought...
absolutely - you give a QB a play with options is telling the QB ALL the options are equally functionable............that was not the case. WHY put a QB sneak in as an option at all??? Is your ROOKIE supposed to then decipher if this is a joke/test/serious? That's not how it works-you get a play and that's it. Zach's eyes told him A gap- but he was doomed to fail no matter what he was seeing. Look at the tape - he's making no effort to gain 2 yards - his body and push are all about 1 yard.

I think he meant if it was a yard then that would be the right call by the rookie QB
but being it was 2 yards there was no reason in Zach Wilson's head that he can sneak it for two yards...
I watched the tape again from three angles and there is no conceivable way Zach could say he saw an opening in the A Gap there was none...
he wanted to be the guy to be the Hero to beat the Goat...

I am not in his head or heart, so i cannot assign a motive, but the kid isn't dumb. He isn't chucking all over the yard for the entire game, so for them to say #2 felt the need to get the glory by running is flat out irresponsible. He gets that anyway bc of his position...he knows that.

the way i heard Saleh explain it was (to paraphrase)...the play design was perfect for the Defensive Set, so the only option was for a handoff to #10. However, the play itself is an option play that didn't have one of them stripped.
I think LaFleur counted on #2 to know they were in goal line, so he didn't think it was necessary to make the sneak unavailable.
Bart Scott hates Zach. Take his opinion with a grain of salt ……. I think Zach may have thought Berrios was hurt (he was limping the prior play) And decided to go for it. I get the decision by Saleh….. but if it were me…. I would have kicked the FG. Pretty sure Arians would have played for the tie once Brady scored.
listening to those clowns gives no insight............and from quotes attributed to them that I have read......agenda driven commentary. Maybe they don't like rich kids. The play over the course of the games since the injury does not fit the bs narrative.
Look at Berrios reaction to the play.. throws his hands up like WTF, unsnaps his helmet and walks off the field before the refs call the gain short...

Guys seriously the HC covered his QB so there’s no reason for the fans too also . You want to know what bothers me the most about this whole thing. I am pretty sure this was spoken about in the locker room before the coach met the press . The HC came out covered his QB and threw his OC under the bus .

We have an awesome talented kid who is probably the best QB in our division. The problem is he’s the pretty girl who knows she’s pretty.
