Its weird because Wilson can hit outside the numbers but not a 3 yard screen pass. Neither QB is close to perfect. I hope Wilson can turn into a FQB, but I still have my doubts.

As the years went by and the injuries piled up his accuracy declined . But that first year boy oh boy . I once said he was going to make Jet fans forget about Joe Namath but unfortunately he wasn’t the man Old Joe was . What Namath did in the NFL playing on that Knee he came from Alabama with doesn’t get done justice.

Yup. A young Zach Wilson is more accurate than a younger Chad Pennington was. But. I wouldn't expect a blind Zach Wilson critic such as yourself to have realized the truth.

they feel the things they are saying, but most are playing with the most talented QB they have ever played with. he was also very introverted to start the season; mannerisms and play style.

the more he acclimates to the NFL, the more of himself he is getting to be, and the teammates will respond in kind.

2002 wasn't Chad Pennington's 1st year. It was his 1st year starting but 3rd year overall.

Chad Pennington wasn't thrown into the fire as a rookie. He had two years of developing before getting a chance to play during year #3.

And when he did finally play during year #3 of 2002 as a 1st year starter? Chad Pennington was blessed with...

• Curtis Martin @ RB.

• All 3 of Chrebet, Santana Moss and Coles @ WR.

• Beast O-Line with Jumbo Elliot, Jason Fabini, Kevin Mawae, Kareem McKenzie and Randy Thomas.

• Heck even Richie Anderson @ FB and Anthony Becht @ TE were 10x better than the crap Zach Wilson was provided.

By the time Chad Pennington made his appearance in 2002? He was not a raw rookie QBing behind pure crap. He was a 3rd year kid who developed for two years and was surrounded by A+ talent with a HOF work horse RB who opposing Ds had to stack 8-9 men in the box in order to defend #28.

I loved Chad Pennington. My favorite Jets QB of All-Time.

But I know enough to know that if you threw a raw Rookie Chad Pennington into the fire of 2021's Jets team? He would not have looked better than Zach Wilson. No chance.

in 2002, when he took over, i thought we had our Joe Montana...absolutely loved him.
Chad was on his way to being the type of QB OC's built an offense around.
When he got injured, douches like Shotty were there to dictate, and he was never the same.

when he left, i wanted him to go to Minny to play indoors like Brees, but with AP as his tailback. he could have been special in a dome.

And then in year 3 he had...

unless i am horribly wrong, #2 is going to have a great back, beast of an OLine, and playmakers by year 3...the difference is that #2 will have gone through growing pains, and the guys he will be playing with will have him when they start with us.

his situation is nothing like Rodgers, Chad's, Palmer's...IMO, his is most emblematic of Aikman's; even down to Mike White playing the role of Steve Walsh.
