I am not interested I think we already have our starters in place but most Jets fans always looking to sell out for what they think is an upgrade...

if anything a player like Chase Lucas in the draft would be suffice to add to the corner room
I am fine with our secondary the way it is . We just need to help them better by getting to the darn QB

Jets fans are not alone in that sentiment. Even most GMs have historically shown their frequent inclination to do that - splash money for what they think is an upgrade. Building a strong team is always a combo of drafts and FAs. That said, truly great players rarely hit the market, but the ones that do command hefty figures.

I DO think our young secondary is progressing and growing nicely, but when you mention arguably the best CB in the league at the moment, that would always raise my eyebrows. Again though, I certainly don’t see JD making blockbuster moves in FA, regardless of the position.

I once love a former N.E. Patriots player in #28 Curtis Martin (once becoming a Jet).

And Yes. I would absolutely love J.C. Jackson in Green and White as our Jets #1 CB.

This kid is unreal. Only 25 years old but yet already 25 career INTs.

2018 = 3 INTs.
2019 = 5 INTs.
2020 = 9 INTs.
2021 = 8 INTs.

And it's more than just game changing INTs too.

Throughout the previous two years since becoming a starter he's also recorded 37 passes defended. This kid is the real deal @ CB.

And most importantly the best ability is availability and he's played every single game throughout the previous 3 years he's durable.

CB #1: J.C. Jackson.
CB #2: Bryce Hall.
Nickel: Michael Carter II.
Dime: Brandin Echols.

Our CB room would be set for the next 5+ years and Jackson/Hall would become the closest thing the NFL has seen since Revis/Cromartie (as an elite CB duo).

With that said. It's a moot point. I'm just hypothetically speaking. I don't think there's any chance he hits the open FA market because A.) He was N.E's best player and MVP this season. B.) Leads the entire NFL in INTs ssince entering the league and C.) There is no way N.E. doesn't either sign him long term or slap their Franchise Tag on him.

But yes. If made available? I'd love him as a Jet just as N.E. loved Revis as a Patriot and Jets loved Curtis Martin as a Jet.
At what cost . We’re building a team that should be ready to be a perennial playoff team for years to come in about another 2 seasons. Why on earth should we spend that type of cap space on a patriot CB ?

I'm lost? I think you're lost.

You want to see the definition of a coaching staff who doesn't believe in a WR anymore?

Pay attention and I'll show you.

2020 = 11 games and 439 snaps (82%).
2021 = 11 games but only 279 snaps (40%).

I'm not lost.
You are.

I watched the games.

And I paid attention to how NYs coaching staff quit on Denzel Mims.

Gase might've loved giving Denzel Mims opportunities but coach Saleh and OC Mike LaFleur obviously wanted nothing to do with him.

You can call me lost all you want.
I've book marked this thread.
I'll bump it up next year.
Lets see who was "lost" then.
and I guarantee you it wasn't me.
I got a GPS for you

A fun one ??? ROFLMAO. Actually, in reality, the Mormons really take religion pretty seriously. They have to because of the whole tithing thing. It’s a bit of a clik in that they are always in competition with each other to be the best Mormon of the lot and try to save the rest of us . Not that that means a whole lot to anyone else……. And between Zach and Schultz, the church gets big bucks outta those two…..
Hey don't make fun of religion on this site........Bigmoe has been putting money in the Jets collection plate for over 50 years.

He was a solid player for us but that was an awful draft considering who was available vs who we took . I understand wanting to get Bowles his type of players but double dipping at safety had to be the dumbest thing ever

Just maybe they suspected that one of them might turn into a shit head.............................maybe.........................just a thought.

And starting next season we may not have either . Both players did have nice careers with the Jets so I can’t complain . Especially with getting two 1st round picks for Adams .

You watch his tape and he looks like he has anger issues. I think I want to find out what really happened in Dallas
Reruns are on antenna TV in case you missed the original.

He was considered one of the best pass rushers in the country coming out of college in terms of stats, but had some work to do to improve his athleticism as he made the transition to the pro game.

Of course, any young edge rusher on the Cowboys roster knows he’ll be competing with the likes of superstars DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory for playing time. This past season, free agent additions Tarell Basham, Brent Urban, and Carlos Watkins were also lobbying for snaps, while Dorance Armstrong continued to be a solid contributor; Chauncey Golston also came into camp as a promising rookie at the position.

All of those factors combined to offer very limited opportunities for the 6-foot-3-inch native Hawaiian. Anae logged two tackles and a quarterback hit over 50 defensive snaps in 2021 across four games, though he did get additional time on special teams. He was officially waived prior to Week 9 and then re-signed to the practice squad.

While the long-term status of several Dallas edge rushers- Gregory, Urban, Watkins, and Armstrong- is still up in the air, Anae apparently wasn’t going to be in the Cowboys’ plans moving forward. He was not one of the players signed by the Cowboys to a futures deal this week following the team’s playoff loss.

Essentially we get a seemingly talented edge rusher with good upside on an almost free trial basis. I for one am good with that.

I don't know why we are talking about signing Davante Adams or Odell Beckham. Both will cost a great deal and one will be an extreme headache.

If Josh Allen deserves Diggs well then Zach Wilson deserves Davante Adams.
difference between the two Diggs signed an extension with Minnesota who ate some of the contract when traded to the Bills when Diggs was 26 years old... the Bills did not sign him they accepted the contract that came with Stefon...

Davante Adams (29) is seeking north of $18 M per year and wants a 6 year deal we are NOT ready to be dealing for that type of free agent contract, sorry but FUCK NO
