How many QBs will go in the first round of the NFL draft?

Todd McShay isn't projecting any quarterbacks to be among the top 10 picks in the draft, but he believes there is plenty of first-round talent at the position.

Good Jets have the 10th pick come on up...

Who has followed -- and who fits the bill in 2022?

As far as the 2022 class goes, no one really fits the mold. I have extensively studied the top seven guys -- Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh), Matt Corral (Ole Miss), Malik Willis (Liberty), Desmond Ridder (Cincinnati), Sam Howell (UNC), Carson Strong (Nevada) and Bailey Zappe (Western Kentucky) -- and I don't even see a neighborhood comparison. Howell has some similar traits; he throws off balance with good trajectory and has the arm strength to deliver the ball downfield despite not a lot of weight transfer, but he lacks Mahomes' anticipation. Willis is maybe a little bit closer to what we're talking about here -- his off-platform throws have some "wow" factor -- but the results haven't always been there (albeit with a lesser supporting cast at Liberty).

I'll say... 4.
but not in the top 10 even though the Texans might be shopping the 3rd overall pick
Kenny Pickett & Matt Corral look like they are the top two but some believe in though he had a down year Sam Howell presents better upside after those three anyone guess but Carson Strong has been mocked for five weeks now as a late first after that the others are second round picks at best...

I'm thinking 4 but we'll see. Should be a fun draft while watching everything unfold. I think some of these QBs will gain more momentum/hype before heading into the draft (still a ways away)..
I think once the Top 9 come off the board
Hutchinson
Thibodeaux
Neal
Cross
Stingley Jr.
Booth Jr.
Ojabo
Hamilton
Ekwonu

Us sitting at ten teams like Saints, Steelers, Raiders, even Green Bay (if they trade Rodgers) will all seek to move up for their chose and we could fleece one of them in a bidding war!!!

hey i want to see the ODU kid keep the job in D.C. as much or more than anyone, but i don't believe WFT is satisfied not to take a QB this draft/round 1. they are high enough to pretty much assure themselves of one of the top 2 and they could always trade back and get one of the more raw talents late in 1st.

Bucs are kidding themselves with Trask. Didn't see much to like at UF unless he has seriously upgraded his field vision.

I like Pickett as the #1 QB - and still don't trust Matt Corral as an NFL passer. He made lots of mistakes in 2020, and in 2021 he lessened the mistakes by taking off and running more. the NFL won't allow him to run as free - and in all the Ole Miss games I've watched the past few years I still don't trust his eyes/processing. Some coaching up maybe improves it, but I don't see elite QB here in the long run.

In the local washington media, the assumption is that WFT will get a new QB - by trade, free agency or draft. People tend to think that the team has enough other talent to create a window now for the postseason and hence free agent or trade rather than draft and develop

Heinecke is a real good NFL backup - as a starter he isnt enough

UF Homer Alert...UF Homer Alert...UF Homer Alert...UF Homer Alert...UF Homer Alert...UF Homer Alert...

if Trask used his eligibility as he should have, he would have been the first QB chosen this year.
Mullen encouraged him to go with his weapons leaving.

QB is unique. Order and numbers depend so much on the specific evals by teams in need - does some team take one QB early - making others worry that the guy THEY specifically want wont be there. Could be a rush by one or more teams to trade up - which could be awesome for the jets

Or, teams could decide that this year's class isnt remarkable and they dont have a favorite so they will let the draft come to them. The problem with that is that most NFL GM's are very confident that THEY know much more than their peers.....

hoping for a QB frenzy!
