Does Revis belong in the HoF?

Serious question.

What makes me think yes, 4 time all-pro 8 time pro-bowler.

What makes me think no, only 29 career interceptions.

What are your thoughts?

Seriously. Is this a real question ? How are you supposed to get interceptions when the ball never gets thrown at you ?
Wanna know why Richard Sherman had so many? They didn’t think he could cover his man

I've always rejected that argument. Deion Sanders has 53 Ints, Rod Woodson has 71 Ints, Charles Woodson...65.

[/QUOTE.
Since when is it the job of the CB to intercept the ball. I thought it was to defend the receiver nd prevenr A reception. I always thought Revis did that as well as could be expected.

Simply yes. I've been watching this game for a long time, and he is one of the best I've seen. Don't care about the contract drama.

Because they were always challenged a lot more than Revis so therefore they had a lot more opportunities. QBs wouldn't even dare look his way.

If we're going to make this a statistical debate well then what were the QB Ratings against and Completion Percentages allowed for Primetime and both of the Woodson's? I'm willing to guarantee they weren't better than #24's (throughout their entire careers).
I'm not taking either side on this, just asking the question. But over the course of Revis' career, I'd have to see the numbers for qb rating against. I do remember a couple of seasons where his QB rating against was on par with Sanders. But I think that was fairly short-lived. After the Jets traded him (which had the potential to be a very brilliant move), he wasn't someone who could cover x solo. He was getting safety help a lot more.

There's a very good reason it was called Revis Island.................................................That's all I have to say on that matter.

I don't think people appreciate how low of a total, 29 ints actually is. In career Ints, Revis is tied for 230th all-time with the likes of Glenn Blackwood, Fred Marion, and Otis Smith. There are no HoF cbs from the past 50 years or so with less than 40 ints.

Yes. In his prime he could nullify any receiver in the game. Don't understand why some keep harping about ints when they aren't possible unless the opposing QB throws the ball your way.

I would say without seeing stats that there are less INTs in the last 20 years ...it seems that way

Its simple. Looking at it objectively of course Revis does belong in the HOF.. Looking at it as a Jet Fan? EFF HIM. See, simple?

Undoubtedly Revis belongs in the Hall of Fame. When evaluating Revis you can't only look on the stat sheets, because the fear he put into opposing QB's cannot be quantified on the stat sheet. They were too afraid to throw his way, and he effectively shut down half the field every time he stepped on it!
