And also our present and future capSchultz and Adams transform this team
Schultz would appear to be the ultimate prize but I prefer NJOKU .
Everyone wants Adams but I prefer Kirk .
I intend to draft my way to a championship, not but my way .
Everything you wrote isShultz is heads and tails rated better than Njoku. Njoku is great when he's clicking but he rarely does. He's very inconsistent. I picked him in my previous post only because he was, in my opinion, the best option for us at that huge $1 deal. In the NFL top 101 list he is listed as 94 whereas Shultz is listed at 22. There has to be a reason for that gap between them.
. My issue is signing players to long term contracts who were not drafted by this team .Everything you wrote is. My issue is signing players to long term contracts who were not drafted by this team .
anyone complaining about Kevin Mawae? Curtis Martin?Everything you wrote is. My issue is signing players to long term contracts who were not drafted by this team .
I know someone who complained about Martin to this very day . For all that they added, what did we win ?anyone complaining about Kevin Mawae? Curtis Martin?

That would make the offense quite excitingIf you can land a top 3 NFL WR in Davante Adams + a TE who just put up top 5 TE production in Dalton Schultz? In order to provide Zach Wilson with Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen firepower? You do it.
LT is a premium position - and the guy didn't miss a game. Curtis and Mawae were a huge reason why the Jets were 30 minutes from the Superbowl........but a team is comprised of more than 2 players...........you build a roster.......the draft is the structure...FA is the added pieces to finish it off because it's virtually impossible to wait for the draft to collect enough talent to perform in their optimal window together. FA is not a solution as previous Jet regimes attempted - it should be utilized in conjunction with a strong homegrown base.I know someone who complained about Martin to this very day . For all that they added, what did we win ?
I am probably the only Jet fan who was never a fan of Brick Ferguson also . I believe in priorities, and because of this I only pay premium positions .
Just so I’m clear I have no objection to signing certain strategic free agents to augment the roster when the time is right . I was informed earlier that cutting certain players would accelerate their cap hits leaving us with substantial dead money for next year. Since that can’t be apart of the plan then we’re looking at adding these additional terrible contracts to the Lawson, Mosley and JFM contracts . Then consider that Q is coming up for a contract and that we’re about getting to give a contract to Fant and maybe Berrios . Every yr after next, some kid we drafted who’s a solid part of this roster will be coming up for a contract and we’re going to be stuck with these old guys who we signed before the team was ready .i hear what you're saying. i think as Jet Fans, we have seen too many Neil O'Donnell signings, but i think our FA Approach has softened my stance... and believe me, it was a lot like your own.
@DWC's perfectly illustrated the way FA's need to be handled. Essentially shown the money, but to capitalize on it to the maximum, the FA's need to perform or their gone for cheap, and we keep the flexibility to re-sign big time players.
nobody has a crystal ball as to when the roster is 'ready' or stays 'ready' before injuries get in the way.Just so I’m clear I have no objection to signing certain strategic free agents to augment the roster when the time is right . And for what, so we could look decent while not making the big game.
Maybe not but I know that this roster isn’t ready . Let’s say we signed those 2 five dollar assets on offense add an OLman and spend the rest of the draft on defense . Next season will be about getting everyone on the same page offensively and acclimating the new guys into the defensive scheme and having them gel . 2023 will be about challenging The Bills for supremacy in the AFC east and and then it’s 2024 .nobody has a crystal ball as to when the roster is 'ready' or stays 'ready' before injuries get in the way.
