Is Chuma Edoga on the trade block?

Joe Douglas and the Jets have mentioned that there will be a competition between Mekhi Becton and George Fant for the left tackle position. But really there was no news on if the loser would take the right tackle starting role if they lose. Re-signing tackle-tight end hybrid Conor McDermott on an one year deal. Now bringing back Greg Senat back on an one year deal all suggests that the team is preparing to move on from a player. That player could be former Southern California Trojan Chuma Edoga. There is some noise that the team has taken calls to trade the former third round pick, albeit won't gather the same return of what was used to draft him but Joe Douglas did get a 6th round pick for a player that was oft-injured also heading into his final year of his rookie deal.

I know you had a bit more trust in Edoga than I did. I'd be interested if he can land a later pick for him.

Also, watch for Mims on the market. I have a feeling that could heat up soon.

coming from who the so called beat writers oh yea from the former buy more general manager Tannebaum? They are keeping him for at least this year, this year is year three when receivers usually break through in their NFL careers especially ones that have as much raw athleticism as he does. from all reports, I have garnered he is physically fit now comes does he understand the X's and O's of the play book?

Could be worth it, especially if they bring in one more WR and he is not in a spot where there is pressure on him.

The physical tools are there. Is the effort there? The playbook abilities, and reads? If he doesn't show both a love of the game and a higher football IQ, it might be time to turn the page on him. He doesn't seem like a Douglas kind of player.

It was the physicality he lost to last year, meaning when he got food poisoning, when he had the flu then got Covid his physical presence was not available. He tried to work through things but trying to get into game shape while trying to build up his physical nature was hard even for someone as athletic as he is. The playbook is a new thing for him, he understands they want him to understand the slot, the perimeter even the wingback positions in this offense. they want him to be able to be flexible so he can stay on the field and be those matchup problems but since he is limited in his knowledge of each responsibility he was more problem then a solution last year.

to this point in this off season he has met up with Zach Wilson, he has worked out with two receivers Braxton Berrios and former Jet Keelan Cole to get a better understanding of the play book and nuances of what role he can master.

I had forgotten about his food poisoning issue. No doubt that put him behind the 8-ball. And if you aren't feeling 100% physically, it can make you second-guess yourself mentally.

last year was not normal at all, to suggest he is a failure is pathetically wrong. (not saying you, just in general) the entire world was on tilt. end of the day what happened last season was awful to all players that either contracted or were affected by Covid and other issues that plagued because of it. the team will NOT give up on him as even though it seemed like he failed he was actually still trying 1000% to help the team, that drive should give him some type of credit.
