It's really hard to find good data on this. Looking at the games where they gave up the most points, pocket time was high for Indianapolis and Philadelphia....2.8 sec and 2.7 sec. The other games that I checked had around 2.4-2.5 seconds...or less. Other than Ind and Phil, I didn't see anything glaring out.Talkers = talking heads on TV doing their mocks, and saying we will take Gardner and/or Hamilton.

i can honestly say that i didn't like most of the results of most of the plays that our D was involved in.
I think our Secondary is better than the numbers indicate, but you have to "take your time" watching each play.
see what the results are like from snap to 2 seconds with the QB harrowing. see just how many times our DBs had to defend/cover past 3 to 4 seconds. the efficacy of the secondary in the first metric is going to shock you. the second should disgust you...
the way i see it, is that if an opposing QB is holding 3 to 5 seconds, our Line should be getting a coverage sack.

also remember ZW also escaped the pocket often to extend the play more times than not. it was only until he came back from injury did he settle in to the game plan and try to complete those short passes he did improve over the final weeks but the durability of the OL is crucial. having 3.0 seconds to throw the ball is nice if one has targets to throw too.
teams we faced had all the time in the world because our DLM were unable to collapse the pocket from the outside or interior consistently. It is not the EDGE it was the cohesiveness of the front four and stability of the whomever is on the field. if we are in zone coverage and the more time they have to throw eventually big plays will be given up and those are why some of stats are skewed.
