well as much as they been scouting Velus they are also scouting Jameson Williams heavily from reports. But puts things into perspective if you are a team on the outside looking in.
I like the sound of that. I feel this Kid could be the steal of the draft if his knee checks out.

I would rather find our own "Deebo Samuel" via the Draft. The talent is there in this draft.

Trading a premium pick or two much less a huge contract for a guy that his current team thinks they can replace with a 4th or fifth rounder (Velus Jones) makes no sense to me. Samuel’s value is because he can line up at RB and WR, not because he is a great WR. He doesn’t want to be a RB/wr, he views himself as a WR and if he is traded will not want to do what has made him valuable. I think and hope that JD sees this craziness as well.
Deebo actually is a very good WR. Not just the gadget plays. He’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands regardless of whether it’s thrown to him or handed off to him.

And the price tag for elite WR’s is high. You can thank Jacksonville (at least partially) for raising the price with their ridiculous contract for Christian Kirk in FA. Tyreek got 120 over 4, and Devonte got 140 over 5. The markets been set. Deebo Samuel is in the same stratosphere as these guys. I understand not wanting to pay that much, but if you want All Pro’s who will elevate the offense you’ve gotta pay. If someone can guarantee me that one of the WR’s in the draft will make pro bowls, then I’m officially off the Deebo bandwagon. But I don’t think anyone can do that.

You make a valid point there. With the vet guy you have to pay for you know what you are getting whereas with the college super star you hope you are getting the same thing at the NFL level that he displayed at school. And that is the full substance of the pick..........HOPE........which is as you pointed out not a guarantee.

A point that needs to be emphasized is whether or not Deebo would agree to a contract extension with the Jets. That could be a barrier to any potential deal with the 49ers. If he won’t commit long term, then no deal.

A very possible reality.

The talent might be there, but JD has to hit on it.

Remember how excited everyone was over Denzel Mims? That’s been a flop up to this point.

From what I am hearing JD has offered the #10 pick for Deebo. I don't know if SF is waiting JD out asking for more or bidding us against the Packers and Lions. If we trade the #10 for Deebo, #4 has to go for a DE. If what I have been hearing, JD is in love with Iggy. Iggy and Deebo in the first would put a major dent in adding to our Defense.

Hey there are no guarantees. Deebo could come here and stink up the joint right? It goes both ways. I would rather swing and miss on a 1st or 2nd rounder than miss on a 25 mil+ per deal. Been there, Done that.

Oh thats not even taking in to account what hijinks would occur if Deebo became a star.

one person Tony Pauline stated this now everyone is repeating what he said. when since Joe Douglas has been hired did any news come from One Jets Drive? this is more speculation as of right now.

@BlindsideD'Brick hit is on the head, it doesn't matter if the 49ers accept the draft compensation, it matters "IF" Deebo will agree to an extension with the Jets. Guarantee any trade attempt will have Deebo signing that extension with us/or any other team involved before it is executed otherwise we are giving a premium pick for a one year rental.

I understand the love for Ekwonu. He’s a great prospect. But I’m not loving that player at #4. I believe Becton bounces back and Fant is coming off a good year. I’d much prefer Thibodeaux there. Even Sauce Gardner would be preferable to me.

If we got Deebo, consider the offense close to done. Then we use most of the other picks on D. Even if we gave up #10, we still have 35,38, and 69 (high third rounder) to shore up the D. Liking that plan a lot.

I don't want to give up the 10th pick either nor would I like to give up our 2 second Rd picks. If we are to secure Deebo's rights, we're going to have to give up something substantial.
