Scouting Report: Big, strong blocking tight end who plays nasty football. Bends his knees, blocks with excellent lean, and stays square. Easily controls opponents in pass protection and takes them from the action. Gets movement run blocking. Keeps his head on a swivel and always looks for someone to hit. Fluid releasing off the line into pass routes.
Areas for Improvement: Plays to one speed and has no burst in his game. Struggles to come away with difficult receptions. Totaled just 6 receptions last season and 5 the prior year.
Prospect Analysis: Borske is a one-dimensional blocking tight end, though he stands out in that single dimension. He’s almost like a sixth offensive lineman on the field and could make a roster as a third tight end due to his blocking skills.

TE No. 5 and I do feel there is a chance we carry 5 tight ends on the active roster, just a feeling.
looking or describing this defense should be simple maybe then you understand that the skill is there, just not the traditional linebacker position.
Saleh's defense uses those strong safeties which are built like linebackers but uses them as his linebackers.
if you noticed last year the safeties that played in coverage were all typical cover or free safeties that roamed the back end of the coverage. In this defense they will deploy two free safeties covering the umbrella in coverage but likes his strong safeties aka linebackers to defend the run and set the edge.
example Jordan Whitehead lives in the box, could be deployed as a linebacker in this defense but he also has enough ball skills to play center field. he gives us versatility.
the key outside Lamarcus Joyner who looks to be the starting cover safety in 2022, could see Jason Pinnock get a lot of playing time as well. We hope and expect Ashtyn Davis to take the next step as he progressed moderately last season. Elijah Riley like Pinnock are a work in progress but showed potential and depth.
but we added so many options, there can be movement throughout the roster with the safeties and their roles on the defense either FS, SS, BS, or converted exclusively to LB.
My only concern is communication between the FSs and CBs. The DLM will have to be able to pressure the pocket while setting the edge, then the linebackers (strong safeties) fill the lanes or pursuit to the outside tackling in space
I don't have a problem converting safeties to LBs or vice versa. But outside of Mosely and Williams, there's next to nothing there. I'd still like to have a little more experience at LB until they're comfortable about converting a safety.
simple put the lack of focus at the traditional linebacker roles are being overlooked because we have double digit potential safeties on the roster currently and some could play those linebacker roles including one CB from Kansas Jeremy Webb who is 6'4" 205.
they want to control the line of scrimmage reason the heavy rotation with the DLM. we now know that JFM will play IDL next to Quinnen. We hope Lawson comes back raring to go. We hope that Bryce Huff, like Lawson is healthy and can stay healthy throughout the entire season. Drafting JJ and Clemons shows the importance of the EDGE rush. They also have some potential from Zuniga, Anae and Curry.
Solomon Thomas, and Sheldon Rankins show veteran depth inside with some potential talent with Coastal Carolina CJ Brewer and FAMU Savion Williams could both compete for potential practice squad roles or active 53 in case of injury.

we also have former Raider Davin White who played some for us last year. another Saleh guy Kai Nauca also on the roster who is a veteran former 9er. there is talent and depth along with experience. Not to mention we signed FA Jacob Martin who is a LB that plays a role as a Wide 9 DE. So technically we have linebacker talent. De;'Shawn Phillips is a key contributor as well. Not flashy names but the depth and talent is there especially when you add in the safety to linebacker conversions.

Scouting Report: Tony offers versatility between as big nickel or safety. His attention-grabbing numbers at his pro day. Adams has good speed/quickness. His best feature is his recovery speed to chase the deep target when he gets behind. Displays good burst to close and play the football downhill.
Areas for Improvement: Tony can be a step slow to turn and sprint with receiver. He has below-average body control for route phase. He has inconsistent balance through his transitions. Adams doesn't play with enough route recognition. His hands give away interception opportunities.
Prospect Analysis: Adams has the size and athletic testing that could have teams deciding between casting him as a safety or cornerback. He has good recovery speed, but the body control and route anticipation create issues with giving away open throwing windows on the second and third levels. He's quick to respond when reading the run but will miss more tackles than he should. Adams has the traits and versatility to compete for special teams role early on.

This guy and Rucker are almost like younger versions of the two TEs we signed in free agency this offseason.
Mosley had a good year last season. Believe he lead the team in tackles (?). But he’s getting paid a lot and may be gone after this year. I guess Saleh doesn’t put heavy emphasis on LB’s. He focuses on the DL and secondary play. LB generally speaking has become less of a priority position over the years. Look at where they’re drafted.
With that said, for a team like the Jets who got trampled on run defense at times last year, I really hope there’s a sound plan in place to address that. I still have nightmares of Jonathan Taylor running for 172 yards on us on National TV. Disgusting. It was a new defense for many of these players, so possibly some acclimation time is needed. Let’s hope.
we didn't have the proper talent last year on the defensive line to have successful rotation. plus the last games of the season Q had that injury which made it hard for him to set leverage and move OLM into the rush lanes. Should of been pulled after the first game that he gave up the assignment that led to that monster rushing lane showed he was clearly hurt. now after last year's roster evaluation season, they made ample roster improvements into depth and our core guys have had a full season in this system should make the transition for new guys to the game plan easier to produce.
Mosley doesn't justify his salary at all. It's pretty clear that the only reason he's still on the team is because the team would lose cap space. Regarding stopping the run, if the team can keep the linemen from getting to the second level, they should be ok.
