Bart has a big mouth, and says many things that people want to say. He might be right. i think he is, but he is on TV; i am a member of a message board.

Somewhere in a book I Ike to quote there’s a line that goes :”The Truth shall set you free “ . I always believe in speaking the Truth .

that's awesome and everything, but what he said might not end up being the "truth".

oh really now? :cautious:
Quite. The good thing about that little book is that my Truth doesn’t have to be your Truth. The important thing is that one does their best to live according to their Truth. Something about letting your light shine but not for yourself.

Doesn’t have to be . It’s his Truth and what he believes . Only bad thing about it is he has to depend on others to make his Truth come to fruition.

What a person believes is what they believe until proven wrong and even then sometimes pride gets in the way .

Wildly optimistic. The Jets may...MAY...be arguably better than the Pats right now. What is absolutely the case is that the Jets are young and good, with TONS of future potential. They are most certainly not the biggest longshot at the Super Bowl, despite what the Vegas odds may say.

Joe Douglas is building a team exactly how I would want a team built. Focus on the trenches first, and bank on homegrown talent. Youth, potential, speed, and physicality.

I am going to say it this way, and I know most will disagree but the Patriots have a system that is easier for players to find their role in rather than having to learn nuances like the Jets coaching staff implemented last year. They might have a lesser group of individuals but as a team they are farther ahead of us because of the organizational structure in place.

I do believe the Jets improved their talent scope but it is just that we added, no one is proven what they did in college means squat here. Now that they are here they have to prove it all over again that what we thought of them is what they are or can be. I hate feeling this way I love the team, but I see the team in different ways then most of you guys. Being hopeful then being let down is not how I want to live every season sooner or later you are going to want to drink yourself silly. So I look at the team each year where are our strengths and our weaknesses, did we fill those voids and how long will it take for them to get up to speed.

Understand drafting prospects, signing free agents doesn't make us better just gives us potential. Is the design (playbook) hard to learn. Did they draft or sign people that are familiar with some of the particulars because if the answer the no think of the 7 draft picks and 12 ish free agent signings that makes 19 Denzel Mims this year. I hated to use him as a reference but it is true. He struggled to grasp the role they wanted him to learn but he had off the field hiccups that interfered with his on the field development and usage.

The one good thing about the Jets system, especially on defense, is that once it has the right players, it does not require too much thinking in pre-snap. It allows players to just fire out and play ball.

but that is what I said beginning last year it will need 3 years or 2 full off seasons for us to see those ample results. Signing DJ Reed, bringing Marcell Harris and Sheldon Rankins even Solomon Thomas gives us that edge on defense if the others can put it together. On offense two tight ends helps, Laken is the big key if he can get the OLine right then yes we compete on this tough schedule but beware injuries could derail the season. I know negative way of thinking more like not putting the blinders on in this day and age of Covid among other things.

This is my saying Hope for Best, Expect the Worst and you won't be disappointed if the worst happens.

That is part of why I think 2023 is when Jets fans can realistically expect to compete for the playoffs. If it happens beforehand, so be it. But let's allow the past two draft classes to mature before raising expectations so high.

Oh, I had thought this for a while. But I am in full agreement with you.

I have long felt that Jets fans who want an immediate return to credibility were responsible for short-changing actual rebuilds. The lack of patience in the fan base killed the team for ages.
