I liked Richard Todd. The dude was tough and threw beautiful balls... not always to our guys, but it was a different era.
the '81 & '82 Teams took too long to get good, and withered before the cupboards could get re-stocked.

I liked Todd also . Got a bad rep after the mud bowl. He wasn’t the only one . That game changed a lot of things for the Jets . My supreme hatred for the fish and all things Miami was born that game.

& the undefeated team gleefully toasting each other after teams lost a chance to match them was always distasteful to me..

I'm convinced that if Ken Stabler started the Immaculate reception game, the Raiders would've won. I feel confident that the Raiders would've beaten the Dolphins too. What a twist of fate that would've been.

Good question but no. Remember that Morrall is a HoF QB and former MVP. And Unitas also sucked.

Stabler sat for 5 seasons because Lamonica was the starter. Lamonica was sucking it up that day.

Shula was faced with the same thing in 72 as in 69 and played Griese. But it wouldn't have mattered as the Dolphins ran all day and only put up 14 points. Griese only threw 11 passes that entire game..
