Can any fan who’s been watching this guy play actually think White’s the better option? Streveler is exactly what you want in a backup QB. Tough and gritty. And the ball moves with him in there.
I’m going to be very disappointed if they go with White and dump this guy.

Clemons looks like he’s gonna be a nice 4th round pick. He’s got animal written all over him.
So the first team offense had four opportunities against the Giants seconds and had a field goal (assisted by a short field) and a pick six. Doesn't bode well for the Baltimore game. Mike White was more direct than previously, but despite the best efforts of the Jets' brass to limit Streveler's opportunity he still stole the show. He just gets rid of the ball so quickly. Mims has given the coaching staff a really difficult choice, if you send him to PS he probably gets pinched.
Going to practice squad would be the absolute last option. That would be malpractice from a GM's standpoint. If you can get a 3rd, I think we take it but probably not happening. I doubt he would've been playing STs until the end if there were serious offers on the table. I think he sticks as the 5th or 6th WR. He wouldn't be the first WR to take a awhile before he gets it, and I'm not saying that he has but the upside is tantalizing. Regardless, the WR room may be the most talented I have seen since I have been following this team.
It’s entirely possible that Mims is motivated and starting to get it. The scenario I’m seeing is, God forbid, our WR corps get hit with injuries and we need some depth to step up. That’s where Mims has value.
If the best offer is a 6th or 7th rounder, it’s probably better to gamble on him getting better. What’s the success rate of those draft picks? 20%?
They were showcasing Mimms to bring up his trade value. Either that or they found a way for Him to absorb the offense in a way he can implement it on the field. Some guys have trouble doing that with the complicated NFL sets. Maybe they finally reached him......or they set him up to look good to get a better return? He did catch that TD after he was limping a bit. Hopefully he isnt hurt and can contribute. We will see.

I gotta admit I'm not a fan of his. Im kinda indifferent about Mims because he hasn't shown much. No excuses at this level. He did catch that TD.......against a guy who will probably not be on an NFL roster when they cut down to 53. Hopefully its the start of something good for Him.......here or someplace else.
If they cut Strev then I'm convinced this coaching staff is clueless.

Mims is truly an enigma. By all accounts he came into camp in great shape worked hard, and with the exception of requesting a trade has not been a distraction. Reading these reports got my hopes up that he finally finally was putting it together but his inability to line up correctly and some untimely penalties dampened the optimism I had for him earlier in camp. Rooting for Mims to make the squad and hope that the mental aspect of the game catches up with his obvious physical talent. If that happens Jets will have one of the deepest wide receiving unit in the NFL but time is surely running out on him
Saleh says Mims is part of the plan moving forward. Let’s see if this is real or smoke. I’m guessing JD is listening to offers and the decision will be based on the draft pick return.
Wouldn’t that then indicate a split between the GM and HC . That would be the start of the demise of this regime . Why is it that in the lane of the Jets everyone is always waiting for the next worst shoe to drop ? I get the media, but I will never understand that from fans who root for a team while expecting the worst and bitch when the worst happens . I don’t care how bad it looks, my outlook will always be positive .
I see nothing wrong in a HC and a GM disagreeing about some things. That’s human nature. Those two have a great relationship and are smart enough to work as a team through any differences of opinion. This is functional leadership. I know, it’s a foreign concept for Jets fans to wrap their heads around, but we actually have that now. It’s refreshing.
i'm convinced douglas is a top shelf GM.. i'm no longer necessarily sold & saleh anymore & i was very high on him initially like most of us were..
the now multiple catchphrases splashed all over training facility as well as him, the players & staff..
i'm starting to get a real "all sizzle no steak" vibe off him..
