Alex Leatherwood was cut

Sounds like if they sign Leatherwood they still won't have a RT.
You know, for all the crap that the Jets get sometimes for their drafts, especially 2020, it’s amazing how bad other teams have been. The Raiders are a disaster in the draft. Leatherwood, Damon Arnette, Henry Ruggs, Clelin Ferrell. 1st round picks. Gone. Busts (or busted for DUI).
Leatherwood should have been a 2nd or 3rd Rd pick. His confidence is shot. I think he would be a good signing. Not as a starter but as a project to work with Mitchel and the coaching staff to develop him. He was outstanding in college. He needs a good coaching staff to rebuild his confidence.
His measurables are pretty good. He seems like someone who if brought in as a backup can be developed into a starter. But he may not want to play again after a huge pay cut.

I want to continue this a bit. If the Bears liked Leatherwood enough to assume his rookie contract then why didn't they just trade a 7th for him. Either the offered it and it was rejected by the Raiders or they felt that a 7th was too high of a price. Either way, nuts.
