ulbrich in his latest presser cleared up why quinnen williams is only getting about 60% of the defensive snaps per game.. it's actually quite simple..
essentially he would love to play him more but when he turns & looks in williams' direction on the bench he's gasping for air!!

Ulbrich is really walking on thin ice at this point. "Gasping for air"??
Is he openly throwing Quinnen Williams under the bus, implying he is out of shape (Quinnen has only played 63% of the snaps)?
If our defense gives up another 30-pointer on Sunday, Saleh needs to get heavily involved in the D, pronto. After all, he came to New York with a defensive pedigree....

which on it's face seems ridiculous because the guy has never physically looked better as a jet & is outplaying the entire D line room.. but why wouldn't he?? he's in his contract year, he's talented & trying to make huge money..

I seriously think Saleh may take over the defense as early as next week if we screw the pooch in Pennsylvania on Sunday.
The question for me is how much different is Ulbrich from Saleh? They were part of the same defense in SF. Most evaluations I’m reading of the defense’s play have less to do with play call, and more to do with execution. Players aren’t in the right spot when the big play/TD happens.
Now we can say it’s on the coaches to make sure players are prepared on game day, but at some point you have to ask if this defense is taking some of these younger guys time to learn. Saleh already alluded to the idea of simplifying some defensive concepts until the players catch up. But the bottom line is, you don’t know how the players will execute until they’re on the field.
