What to do on the OL

With Michell probably missing the next couple games, and hopefully Brown coming back, should we move AVT to RT and go with Brown, Laken, McGovern, the guy who played RG today, and AVT? We are definitely running out of linemen. If Brown cant go, we had better move Remmers up to play LT. Or keep AVT at LT and move up Ogbuhi to play RT. Thoughts?????

I hear that Brown is coming off of IR.

We're going to need to replace Becton in the off-season. Instead of a draft pick(s), I think JD should look for a suitable trading partner that needs to unload a good player who doesn't fit well into their system.

I agree, but feel as though we should double down and grab one or two OL in the first 5 rounds.

Last year was the year to pick Offensive tackles. This year is a thin group for OT's. I don't see any in the 1st Rd. Some good OG's in RD #1. There will be a few good Linebackers in RD #1 and early in RD #2 which is a need. Not saying the Offensive line is not a major need also.

Im so proud of Jets back up O Line against Blitzburgs Defense. You could see glimpses of how good Zach can be if give time. Granted Zach had to run sometimes but when it mattered the O Line gave Zach time. Can O Line do it again? I hope so.

I wouldn't worry about that. There will be players available and it will just allow the team to trade back.

Not sure I move AVT to RT. If Brown is back, he plugs in immediately at LT. I'd put AVT back to guard. At that point, you only need to fill RT for a couple weeks before having at least a capable OL.

It just seems insane the number of injuries the Jets have had on the OL.

And all at tackle too. Bob and Marty on the radio broadcast were talking about law of average and how you would expect injuries to be spread across all positions but not in our case. Our injuries are almost wholly on the two tackle positions.

Does anybody think this could be because the players are unfamiliar with the techniques necessary for zone blocking?

I believe Remmers is a LT. I don’t think he has played RT. Ogbuihi is a RT

He played LT in the Superbowl for KC and was brutal........he's played RG, RT, and probably not a good candidate to play LT. I'd trust Vera-Tucker more.

Duane Brown and Vinny Curry are practicing today. They have 21 days to activate them to the roster.

Getting Brown back would be a very positive development.

Saleh was right by saying early season is like pre-season due to the newer pre-season venues of lack of gelling. . But.............they apply to all teams. The OL is so important, and we once again get the short straw. I really enjoyed the coolness shown by Zach. Like a seasoned pro. He's a 21st century Fran Tarkenton, but wilier.
