Time to get rid of the slit film turf?

The NFLPA is making a strong push to outlaw slit film turf. The same turf used at Metlife. They slit film turf causes completely avoidable injuries. What do you think?

If they found something that is safer for the players or found that a certain surface is causing injuries, it would be in their own best interests to make a change. Protecting their own investment.

Chances are, fans being fans, some of the cost of replacement could be offset by selling 4" x4" squares of the old turf, along with a booklet listing the famous players who played on it.

I offer this suggestion freely, and do not intend at this time to sue for theft of concept should the NFL use it. ;-)

It would be nice if NYC once again had an NFL team and not some team using the NY name but playing their home games in a fly-over state.
