Next year at QB

Pretty obvious that Zach is never going to be the guy because he plays scared….period. So….looking at vets at the start of the new league year. Carr….. will probably have to be released, Jimmy G….. FA and knows the system… Mayfield will probably be gone….. Kyler Murray (I think he lost his job to McCoy) could use a change of scenery…. Minshew, FA and could be gotten on the cheap. I think if you swing a deal for any of these guys, they come in as the starter with ZW as the backup. I just don’t see any QB’s in the draft (at the range we will be picking at) that can come in and start. Thoughts????

It's not THAT bad. With any luck Herbig will be back next week and so will the running game. Mitchell and Fant can't be far off, and we can swap Feeney for the Good Doctor in the practice squad. I GUARANTEE that with the improved line Wilson will look better. We may be here next week talking about the New York Jekyll and Hydes. Though the only game I would be confident about is the Jags (who will probably be tanking by then).

It is amazing how the outlook totally changes in a week. My buddy who doesn’t watch football, saw the score and says to me this morning “I didn’t think you’d want to talk this morning after that game”. I said, “I’m not even surprised at all or as pissed as i should be because i expected it. It’s what the JKets do, they build you up just to break you down”

Murray, Carr and Garrapolo are not going any where. They'll stay where there at. I would take a flyer on Goff for a reduced price. Need a QB whose not afraid to stay in the pocket. Joe-D and Saleh have drafted for two years with the Jets, if I’m correct! They’ve done a great job overall but the problem is that the most important position to draft they may have got it wrong. It definitely appears they did. So now what do they do?

Do they give Zach the rest of this year and next year before they decide? Do they cut bait with him after this year if he doesn’t turn this around. Do they sign or trade for a proven vet and let Zach sit next year and hopefully learn? Decisions-decisions!!!

This team is ready, THIS YEAR to be a true threat in the playoffs. If we had a half-way decent QB, which means playing majority mistake free football that can make a play here and there. Pretty much a game manager, we’d probably be undefeated right now

He had actually a -1.9 yards stat. What killed him in the media today both print and T.V. was his cavalierly saying "no" to any accountability to his play.

Wilson lost me yesterday, both with his on-field dreadful performance and even more with his lack of accountability off the field. I will trust the organization if they do give him a third year to develop and prove himself, but damn, it does not look good. On any front.

This defense and this set of skill players deserve better.

My feeling is that Saleh and JD will bow to the pressures to change from Wilson. Both do not have the time on the job,nor record to have a "F You" attitude . One game or so for Zach to redeem himself, or is his style to have a good game on even numbered days?

I don't think they will let fan reaction or the press guide them one way or the other. If their plan is to give him a third year and wait until they would have to decide on his option year, they'll do it. If they have seen enough and are ready to move on, they will do that, too.

If they do bow to pressure, it will be from within the locker room. If Wilson has lost the team, they will move on.

How do you expect to find any rhythm as an offense when you cannot run the ball? You’re putting everything on the QB in a day where throwing the ball is complicated by the windy weather. Not an excuse for his overall performance, but they are factors.

As far as the attitude after the game, yeah it was a bad look. I’m going to attribute it to the emotions of a bad game. Players and coaches say dumb things when they’ve got reporters in their faces sometimes. He should’ve owned it. But I’m not going to kill the guy over that. Hopefully he’ll learn from it.

His "good" games are relatively ordinary. If his ceiling is lower production and not turning over the ball, and his floor is either three picks or 2 1/2 inches per play, that's not enough.

I have patience. You know I have patience. But if this front office decided after yesterday to move on, I absolutely cannot blame them for that decision.
