The 49ers are so desperate right now they actually might entertain this idea. That Garrapolo injury was a gut punch for them.

I never liked him from day 1. Some profound douchebag attitude in this boy...without too much to merit it.
I agree and had a feeling this was how his career would go. The funny thing is they cut him and kept Darnold.
i really thought the browns would take darnold, hoped the giants would take barkley & assumed we would go mayfield at 3.. LOLz & i gave no serious thought on us taking allen or jackson..
& yes mayfield is an amazing asshole but man have the wheels fallen off with his play as well..

It raises the question, do you pick a QB in the first round and start him in his first year? Sometimes we get enamored with their college play. The dilemma is top draft picks go to teams with poor records. They can't really afford to sit them. So they put them out there without a supporting cast.
Now I'm thinking about the 2023 draft and should we look to draft a QB. We have a supporting cast with a solid defense and OL with weapons on the outside and backfield. Some may want to believe that White is our long term answer. Opponents will have enough film to study him next year. My guess is as long as our staff remains intact he has a chance to develop. Right now I can't feel confident that he is. In the thick of a potential playoff appearance as young as this team is, it can go either way. Yes I'm thinking about the opportunity, but no I won't be surprised at however the team finishes. Maybe the next three games will give me insight into the state of the offense.

IMO unless there is a meltdown he is our starter the rest of the year. By then we should be 70% sure of what he is
