Compared to last year, we have some really good talent across many positions this season, so it's perfectly natural to have much higher expectations.
Let's not forget that this is results-oriented entertainment business! So, when there are no results (and hence no entertainment), it is totally expected that we, fans, criticize and bitch about it.
For anyone who thinks that Jets fans are the among the most impatient, they need to do some research (if time permits) and visit other teams' forums. You'll be in for a treat...

Come on, we finished the season 2-8 in our last 10 and we lost to the lions and jags back to back. Who doesn’t see the improvement here. We did it with better players. That has to be improvement

Well….. lets look at the pro’s here. We all said 8 to 9 wins was a pro. We weren’t expecting playoffs. We now see what we have in Wilson (he is shit). We have a decent defense. Mission 1, 2, and 3 accomplished . There should be no doubt as to our direction this offseason. GET A FUCKING VETERAN QB. I agree on the improvement. I didn't realize that the Jets played worse in foul weather than the Jags, but, obviously they do. If they had put Strev in at the end of the first quarter so he had time to get into a rythm the outcome of the game might have been better

I realize the consensus on this board is mostly about the poor play at QB. The team sucked and has lost its mojo. There's plenty of blame to go around starting with coaching. Not a whole lot of adjustments made. No complimentary football, unforced errors, not enough effort or execution. That doesn't totally fall on the QB. Dropped passes, fumbles, and penalties. The strength of this team is the D, and they couldn't get off the field. Two games in a row where the run game was non-existent. Special teams made little contribution. Just careless lackadaisical uninspired undisciplined football from a youthful team.

The quick answer is cut bait and start over. I don't know if that's going to make a difference. There is something else going on here. Whether it's scheme, execution, or attitude, this hasn't been the same team since the loss of AVT and Beast. Why hasn't this defense scored touchdowns? Why hasn't special teams created more scoring opportunities? Why has all the money invested in the OL (it's like the top 3 in the league) not resulted in premium run and pass blocking, especially run blocking? Is our playcalling too predictable? I get having an off game by either phase. I get being out executed a game or two. I even get a team being more physical than another. This is a problem that won't get fixed this season, leaving more questions than answers. It feels like this was the last game, and if there was something to play for besides a paycheck it's gone. This team has played like a thunderstorm, made a lot of noise early, got the attention of the neighbors, and left collateral damage afterwards.

If there was any question, any at all, left in the minds of New York Jets fans -- and hopefully, the Jets coaching staff and top management/owners -- of the suitability of Mr. Zachary Wilson as quarterback, this game should have dispelled it for good.

An over-used and tired defensive squad did their best, but it takes two [squads] to tango up a win.
