Problem with that is most likely next year, M-F’n-W or Carr or Jimmy G or whomever will show themselves as being our long term answer. At least the next 5-7 years and then what are we supposed to do with Zach? Just keep him and let him collect the money for nothing?
That’s basically what you have to do at this point. Try to rehab him and then trade him after next year. We are on the hook for a ton of dead money.
Let him sit behind a veteran and see if the light comes on. Worked for Aaron Rodgers and Steve Young. At least if he is backup his salary isn't a total loss.

Honestly I was against drafting Zach from the start. We never built anything around Darnold and quit on him (while giving him nothing that he needed).
Imagine if he somehow beats brady this weekend?! Wont happen but man, that would be hilarious.

Justin Fields won't last in this league as a runner. Darnold was never given this team which would have been nice to see. Didn't happen so we all have moved on. Zach should have never been drafted in the first round. Like with Becton, JD swung for the fences with a high risk player. Hasn't worked either time. Just keep drafting late round QB's every year until one sticks. Mike White might be that late round guy. We picked him up from Dallas, but he has been here for years. I think if LaFleur gets out of the way White could be a future decent QB if he can stay healthy.
That is very true about Fields but with this Jets roster, he wouldn’t have to run like that. He would actually be able to roll out here and there on occasion. As long as he could play the position from inside the pocket he would be straight on this team and with the weapons we have, I don’t see why not!
I think our OL is one of the worst in the league so I think he would still have to run plenty. I also think these weapons are overrated. Corey Davis can't catch or stay healthy. Berrios sucks. Elijah Moore is not in the gameplan. We have Garrett Wilson which might be a great combo since they played at OSU together. We will never know. Let's just hope Mike White is the guy because he seems to make the rest of this roster much better than Zach ever did.
When MW plays he doesn’t seem to have to run for his life. Maybe it’s because he’s smart and can read the field fast enough and get the ball out his hands and throw his weapons open. Zach obviously isn’t smart enough and probably will never be. Now Fields on the other hand has to run for his life because he has absolutely nothing. No oline and no real weapons.
Alright I'm gonna step in and try to diffuse this. We have a big game Sunday. An actual meaningful game in January. Let's focus on that.

No, MW stays in the pocket and takes enormous hits. Fields would probably be OK for the same reason Strev was OK, tucking the ball and running is different from doing the 'Dieing Fly' Zach-style. As for Zach I remember there were times last season when he seemed OK, but this season he has lost his way; so Douglas and Saleh would not be completely out of order in expending some effort on reclamation.
Look at TCT being the voice of reason here. I can definitely appreciate that!
