Well I didn’t really believe that myself but I tried to convince both me and you. I actually do believe Fields can be the guy. For whatever team he plays for!

3-14 this year with Fields. Give me a proven vet that can win now. Bears might even draft another QB.
Benton, Calabrese, and Austin are out.
I'm curious to see how long it takes for MLF to land elsewhere. If it takes longer than the end of January, then how accurate was the statement "Other teams inquired about him and he was given the opportunity to pursue"? It also brings up whether this firing was Saleh decision or ultimately the Johnsons. This makes next year's finish with the expectations carrying over from this year.
We're already taking the mindset that this team is a QB away from being a playoff contender. But now you have to add a new playcaller, OL coach, WR coach, QB coach, and possibly a senior offensive advisor. To me that is a lot to expect the playoffs to happen in a year. If we were playing in the South divisions of either conference perhaps. But Buffalo isn't going anywhere anytime soon, Miami with all their injuries at QB made the dance, NE still has our number, and this team is young.
I tried warning you guys back in October during the win streak to enjoy the ride, not to get sucked into the hype, but there was no reasoning. I tried stating that White didn't have the games behind him to get us there. Similar response. I'm not advocating Zach Flacco or White. There was progress attained yet a dissatisfaction taste left in the mouths. So now that everyone's back to earth again let's clean house (well partially) and pick up where things left off? Not with this much change about to happen, sorry.
I just hope that next year doesn't become a playoff or bust season. The more consistency the more longevity. But in my opinion the lack of patience runs rampart in this town.

The Bears were 3-14 because their team as a whole sucked ass. Not because Justin Fields as a garbage QB and he held them back. Justin Fields stats actually weren’t half bad. Especially for a QB that was sacked 55 times. You put his stats this year on this Jets team and we’re a 10-11 win team.
Well I personally want a QB that can throw. Fields is a running QB and will be injured often. In 2 years I'm not impressed with him as a passer, but I like his grit and toughness. I'm sure if JD really waned him he could get him. The Bears will move on I bet.
Boy, I sure hope they've got somebody lined up for this OC job and we don't end up in a humiliating scramble for any warm body. Schotty could be available.
I hope they will and won’t ask for a ridiculous amount for him. Here’s something you need to consider. Even with the Jets injury riddled oline, Fields would have done a better job with this team than he did with the Bears because of our weapons.
The Bears oline was just as bad or worse and he still did well stat wise with that team. So let’s say he would have ran for about 500 less yards but thrown for about 500-700 more yards. Plus more TDs. Stats like that would make him more of a passing QB, NO???
The Bears trading Fields away this year, I think it’s an impossibility but I can only hope. Lets say Zach and our first and second round draft picks this year. I’d be reluctant on that but I’d do it. I think they can fix the oline through free agency and late rounders.
Also the starters the Jets have might be more than enough, if they can just stay healthy. We have enough offensive weapons for any competent QB to use to the max. I believe Fields can be that. So can Carr (I hope) and L. Jackson. Ofcourse A. Rodgers as well.

Not a chance I trade for Fields. That makes no sense at this stage of his career. This team needs a proven QB I think.

I love Justin Fields game. It also scares the crap out me. Anytime ANY QB on ANY team takes off Running I cringe. I couldn't imagine it 50% of the time. I know in today's game you have to have a somewhat mobile QB but part of the reason I don't want the Jets to pursue Lamar Jackson is he's a hell of a player but a hell of an injury risk as well. I could just see, with the history of this Franchise, a Jetsy scenario( use your imagination) come about. No I would prefer a guy like Garrappalo and YES injury can happen to any QB but a Guy who pulls it down and Runs it is going to get beat up as the Season goes on too.
I absolutely HATE Derek Carr. HE is GUTLESS on the Field and I would only take that Prick if they got Him after the Raiders release Him. League minimum deal too. Let the Raiders pay his ball-less ass.

Garrappalo is the biggest injury risk in the league. Avgs about 6 games per year, rest are missed for injury.

Yeah, like I said QB's get injured. Garrappalo maybe more than others. I feel that the cost will be high for a QB and Garrappalo will be the cheapest in terms of dollars and years. Except for Carr. He sucks though, and I don't want him on this Team.
