I don't love this hire, I don't hate this hire. Hackett was a good OC overall, but a bad HC. He got the best play of Rodgers' career, and even made Blake Bortles look like a starting NFL QB. But he couldn't win with Russell Wilson. And he comes with the baggage of his father's time with the Jets, which shouldn't be relevant but is.

To be fair, Pete Carroll couldn't win with Russell Wilson the last year he was there either. Carroll dumped Wilson it seems.

Probably...................the NFL is rapidly changing and I'm not sure it's for the better. Just look at how they have ruined the pro bowl this year.

Not crazy over the narrative that Hackett was hired "just" to get Rodgers. I could see if the hire was a demand of Rodgers. If we don't sign the diva for whatever reason, it appears as a wasted choice in Hackett. Bad look for the Jets. Again!

Not sure about a narrative....just my own speculation. That said, I don't think it would be a bad signing either. Hackett at OC is definitely an upgrade over Lafleur.
