I think he reached an agreement with the Saints . Allows them to keep their draft capital and he gets his money plus a weapon or protection in the draft.

You’re probably right on this, but it’s a pretty slimy move if true. The Saints worked out a potential trade package with the raiders, which opened up Carr’s trip to New Orleans for a visit. Then they work out an under the table deal to screw over the raiders?
Anything is possible, but man that’s some shady business if it goes down that way.
Seems like something the league would have to penalize them for. Give them a draft pick that they would deserve.
I will say this..............................The Saints are in cap hell,.............60M over the cap. I would expect that if Carr did his homework, dumb if he didn't, he would know this. That being said................by the time they cut enough players after restructuring the few that they can just to get under the cap, what will the team look like ? Then they also have to come up with the money to pay him and any players that they draft or sign in free agency. It is going to be tough for them to wind up with a really competitive team after all that juggling. The Jets aren't in great shape cap wise either but they are much better off than the Saints and I can see how the Jets can add 40M to their cap without hurting the teams competitive ability that much. Considering this he should be begging the Jets to give him a shot in my opinion.
Im expecting the Jets to make some serious cuts and restructures (Davis, Berrios, Lawson) and more. Im not sure how the Saints look after significant cuts, but I have to assume they have a plan just like the Jets.

I'm sure they have some fat they can trim as well, but they have 60M to deal with and the Jets have only 3M..............and lots more flexibility.
They were like 160 over last season.

Im feeling that because there were 4 teams who he was given permission to negotiate with and he had 2 meetings with the Saints and never bothered visiting the others.
I hope they did screw the Raiders. The Raiders screwed Carr so this was his parting shot.
Now after Carr pulls a Kirk Cousins on the Jets then I will hate him too.

Yep................sooner or later you have to pay the piper and the further you push it off the more it's going to bite when you pay the check which inevitably comes at the worst possible time especially for the Jets.
One thing about Carr scares me. I know he was due a big payout but for them to be so desperate to throw Carr away at all costs there has to be something else to it.
