For those old enough to remember, I saw that Dick Haley passed away. He was in the front office with the Jets, Director of Player Personnel. His son is Todd Haley, long-time coach.

Dick Haley wanted the Jets to draft a young kid named Brett Favre, but the then GM decided not to. He also pleaded with then coach Rich Kotite to draft a big DT who later went to Tampa Bay. Kotite instead drafted a TE. We had the Brains back then, but not as a GM. Sorry all it was not Haley it was Ron Wolf. Thanks for correcting me Sack.

Was that Haley, or was that Wolf?

Yea
“Ron Wolf, then the director of player personnel for Jets' general manager Dick Steinberg, had Favre ranked as the best player in the 1991 draft class. New York, however, did not have a first-round selection, only a second-round pick at No. 34 “

I think they tried to trade up but couldn’t and the Falcons got him and we got Browning Nagle

Wolf then went to packers and got Farve
I think Jerry Granville didn’t want him
