Can Paris Johnson be this year's AVT? (Top 15)
Will John Michael Schmitz fall to the 2nd Round? (Top 50)
What is the draft status of Sean Clifford? (Day 3)
Is Jason Taylor's stock rising? (Day 3)
Who is our future left tackle, in house or is our draft focus on Joey Fisher from Sheperd? (Day 3)

All very interesting as I could very easily see JD not grabbing an OT at 13, instead trading further down to bottom of 1st and taking Best center ((Schmitz). Have a feeling that he won’t last until 42-43.

If I was a betting person, which I am not the draft is right there for us.
Regardless of how Aaron Rodgers trade shakes out, the Jets want to keep one of their second rounds will determine how they play this draft day.

Grabbing Paris Johnson with the 13th pick whereas some have him going as high as 8 would be a steal at 13... A former tackle that is kicking inside to play guard would pair with AVT at the guard positions for years. AVT proved he can play much more than guard. Same makeup Paris has as Alijah would make our line versatile with full loads of talent.

Joey Fisher is this year's Max Mitchell. Fisher same size but is more physical capable of benching 500 lbs.

A feisty, physical grappler, Fisher’s film is full of more pancakes than IHOP. The tenacious mauler possesses brute strength, which enables him to generate great push in the run game and the strength to toss defenders around in the pass game, like they are rag dolls.

His size, strength and aggressiveness (plays through the whistle) is going to endear himself to coaches but there is some development needed here. He is viewed strictly as a right tackle prospect, which is where he started all three years at Shepherd. The allure with Fisher is his upside. Should he maximize his potential, there are starter traits that flash on film.

A true senior, Fisher started all three seasons (Shepherd did not play during the COVID-19 pandemic year).

Like last year the Jets are targeting another safety. Last year we signed rookie free agent, Tony Adams from Illinois. This year they are trying to target Jason Taylor and draft the Oklahoma State prospect, lock him into a rookie four year deal. Fits perfectly into Saleh/Ulbrich's defensive scheme.

We are all interested in hearing when this Aaron Rodgers trade will happen. Then we sign a formidable backup that knows Hackett's offense in Tim Boyle. But the team is looking for another option, and Sean Clifford from Penn State. Have to wonder if they are really interested in drafting another option and if so, where does that truly leave Zach "All about Me" Wilson?

Smoke screen? or true interest in Interior Offensive Lineman/Center John Michael Schmitz? He literally was my target last year before he returned to school. Believe his versatility and success at commanding the line and able to controlling the blocking assignments made him the top dawg last year and this year rated as a second round is mind boggling. He has been noted as going as high as 30 but is mainly rated as a high second round pick in the low 40s. The latest mock has him going 46 overall. So he is a top 50 prospect but do we have to get him in the first round to secure his services?

If we can hopefully take Paris Johnson with our first round selection, can JD strike a deal to re enter to the back of the first round for John Michael Schmitz? Probably using our 4th round pick this year might be able to swing that deal, could send a player in that deal as well.

The ongoing offer for Aaron Rodgers has been a 2nd round pick this year and a future pick. With that being said that should leave us with one that with a fourth and a player or an additional future pick to move back into the first round. Leaving us with 143rd and 207th picks with a possibly three targets left as seen in my Jets Top 5 Prospect Big Board.

Paris Johnson is a Guard at this level that played Tackle at Ohio State.

Is Skoronski (sp?) in the mix if there at 13? I saw Johnson as a bit long and lean for the OG spot, but that is from a layman’s (amateur) perspective.

He is literally the Top Tackle on the Board, Paris Johnson looks to kick inside would be the top IOL on the Board with Broderiyck Jones and Darnell Wright competing for the second Tackle on the Board.

Anyone of these guys would fit the bill.

Hope is Mekhi comes back healthy he has slimmed down a ton.
No update on Max Mitchell that I know of.
Duane Brown is a bridge player.
If we are comparing prospects to current players or trying to figure out the game plan on our current players to what the team may do in the draft could get mind boggling. If Max Mitchell can not continue with his young career? If Mekhi does not work out our short term outlook can look this:

We know AVT can play RT, & LT also both Guard positions.
If Mitchell can not go and Becton is not right then AVT can kick outside.

Too many what ifs.
But doubt we draft a Tackle in the first round this year.
If we do grab someone could be day three like last year.
Building the interior is a must especially at center.
What is the future with Laken Tomlinson? How can we move his contract without eating so much dead loss? If they plan to move him, do they kick AVT to the left side? Drafting Paris Johnson could fill this void too immediately. Is Mekhi a Tackle or Guard? So many questions, need to be answered.

Again if I was a betting person this is what I see happening:

Left Tackle: Max Mitchell/Duane Brown
Right Tackle: AVT/Joey Fisher
Left Guard: Paris Johnson/Wes Schweitzer
Right Guard: Mekhi Becton/Trystan Colon-Castillo
Center: John Michael Schmitz/Chris Glaser

Just saying this could be a formidable line with good depth and future starter potential and yes removed Laken Tomlinson from rotation.

Any other option for the center position if JMS is off the board.

Good to hear from you "G" .This all sounds reasonable but then I didn't get to watch much college ball this year. I hope you and JD get it right so Rogers can lead us to the big time.

I like Darnell Wright. Even if he plays RT. John Michael Schmitz is 25 yrs old. IMO JD will pass on him for a younger Center. Tipperman or someone else. I don't see Becton as a RT or Guard. It puts too much stress on the knees.

A 25 year old center could play easily 10 to 15 years in this league and we be stoopid to pass on him if he is still in our reach...

IMO I just don't think we are going to draft him. Not saying he is worthless. I do believe he is the best Center out there. I just have a gut feeling.

I hope JD can trade back into the 2nd or 3rd Rd, There are some very good prospects that can be added for us.
