Successful Surgery

Most know I was hurt in May, had 4 toes amputated.

Last week had allergic reaction to antibiotic Cefadroxil which landed me in the hospital for a few days to flush my system. Was unconscious for around three hours and stopped breathing 18 times on Thursday.

Today had successful surgery transmetatarsal amputation (TMA) on my left foot and yes they chopped it off. The orthopedic surgeon was ecstatic that the infection to all accounts is gone. So now down to a total of 3 toes left on my right foot.

Right foot still size 12, left foot is now 9 1/2 FML

will be around, just limited.

Gaetano, I don't know what a failed surgery would be like and I don't know if liking your post is appropriate. But you're sharing it as positive news so I think I need to be supportive. Glad that your infection is gone.

Gmf, there is a silver lining to your journey. As long as the infection is gone you will heal properly. You remain in my thoughts and heart. One day at a time. Much love bro!

will see Dr. Finkbone around 6 ish have not slept waiting on him and enjoying the morphine every three hours 50 cc not much but just enough to keep the pain at 7 rather than 10+++

Too bad your feet are so big, buddy. We could shop for shoes together. I wear 8 1/2 on left foot and 7 on the right foot for the same reason missing toes. Glad to hear the infection is gone. Hang in there. We are all rooting for your recovery.
