Bit harsh tbh, there are and always will be sportsmen that need a cuddle rather than to be bawled out, in soccer we call it the arm around them approach, it is what it is, I'm not bothered if he needs a slap on the back after his first decent game of the season, it isn't offensive to anybody, (bar you, it seems lol) if it makes him have another decent game, all the better. The sad thing is my son said essentially the same thing. "The worst part of all of this is Saleh will use this as a reason to keep playing Zach"
I mean clearly the bar has been lowered (down to the ground). It's not like he lit the place up, yet everyone is championing like "he has arrived!". I watched Herbert yesterday and man the kid is tough and can ball! He injures himself trying to stop a runback on an INT (he should have stayed out of it LOL), goes to the sideline has his finger in a splint/taped up, boy throws on a glove and goes out and balls some more!
He had a bad game, yet never once did I feel like "he doesn't get it! He's out of his league! Man do they need to pull him". Dude even when making mistakes still looked like a winner out there, and helped his team get the win!
I don't see any of that when watching Zach. Even when he completes a good play, it always looks simple, it always looks like the first read, it always looks like "thank god he didn't mess that up"! I also see a player that is constantly being coddled, constantly getting reinforcement, constantly being shielded (shit he looked like he was going to cry on the sideline with everyone giving him an "attaboy" to keep his spirits up. This is a grown ass man! He isn't a leader, he is an immature child that needs everyone around him to help him carry the burden.
This is just not what you want to see in a professional athlete (regardless of what position they play).
I wonder if Rodgers will be walking like him when he returnsA victory over the Chiefs would have done wonders. We were overmatched. (They had the refs).

Joe Namath (re)inured his knee when he tried to tackle the guy who recovered a fumble by Lee White (may he ever be cursed). He never fully covered.I watched Herbert yesterday and man the kid is tough and can ball! Just so my words aren't being misconstrued. Giving someone a pat on the back, or uplifting words is NOT what I'm talking about here.Bit harsh tbh, there are and always will be sportsmen that need a cuddle rather than to be bawled out, in soccer we call it the arm around them approach, it is what it is, I'm not bothered if he needs a slap on the back after his first decent game of the season, it isn't offensive to anybody, (bar you, it seems lol) if it makes him have another decent game, all the better.
Also, not everybody can be a leader and isn't he meant to be on the spectrum of ADHD? which will make it harder to do this kind of stuff, being a rah rah man in the dressing room isn't for me, neither is the little circle gathering and fist bumping, whooping and hollering, I'm the quite fucker in the corner just concentrating on my game.
"Yer darn tootin'".I wonder if Rodgers will be walking like him when he returns
In all fairness, you did like the post that mentioned the pat on the back fest as well lolJust so my words aren't being misconstrued. Giving someone a pat on the back, or uplifting words is NOT what I'm talking about here.
Needing half the offense to huddle with a player is not professional. Needy to shield a player from criticism is not professional, needing to assure there is NO competition behind a player is not professional. I'm sorry but if someone is this high maintenance and needs this much special attention, they do not belong.
LOL pat on the back is not what he received. The amount of attention and the way they felt that they needed to console him is what bothered me.In all fairness, you did like the post that mentioned the pat on the back fest as well lol
