Give Payton time. He got saddled with a now-scrub in Russ and a pretty awful team. He will turn that place around. Don't expect Russ to be there next season.
I just wonder how much of a genius he is without Drew Brees.
Maybe he should of realized that before running off at the lip and blaming Hackett for all the problems. He seems to be less competent than Hackett based on the current results with the same team.
Given time to add his players, I think Payton will succeed in Denver.
Honestly, I think Hackett is awful so don't really have a problem with Payton's comments.
In case anyone was looking, as bad as Denver played, they still could have won that game. Problem, as I said originally, is that Russ fucked it up again. He's a fraction of his former self.
And let's look at Hackett's stellar play calling and the Jets overall performance last Sunday: Punt, FG, Punt, Safety on Denver, Punt, FG, Blown Clock Management to End Half, Brilliant TD By Breece, FG, FG, FG, INT, TD. Look, we won. But that's a dog crap day by Hackett's offense. Maybe it's all Zach. Maybe Hackett blows, too.
I've learned from last year not to judge the OC based on Zach's performances. We looked like dog shit every time he takes the field, but sub in White, sub in Flacco and BAM we are slinging the ball all over the damn field.
Like I've said the past few weeks. Just look at the film. Guys are open, Zach just can't seem to consistently get them the ball. This season has been a repeat of last season, we succeed in-spite of him, never because of him.

Yup. I know it's not all the OC's fault. I just have a bias with the Hackett name on the Jets.
Take Breece Hall out of that game and we lose. Take away Denver's constant turnovers and we lose. Zach just has never lit up defenses with his arm and put up points.
I get that, LRJ. Gotta be a rub between those guys that we don't know about.
