sorry guys, I disagree. He's different, but clearly not there yet.I think today's game should answer your question loud and clear. Best hope for this season is a competent game manager, but he clearly isn't ready for prime time.
I know you are reaching for hope, and your posts clearly show that you will support Zach no matter what. But can you elaborate on what you see that is different? "Not there yet?" It's year three, do we continue to hold out hope indefinitely? I can't see any argument to refute that he is clearly the worst starting QB in the NFL.sorry guys, I disagree. I'm trying to keep it in perspective. The CS doesn't trust him yet to do much more than 'manage the game', which he is doing a good job at. they said he needed a reset, and starting this year wasn't in the plan. So, yeah he's not there yet but the ability is clearly there. If you don't see that, you're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree.I know you are reaching for hope, and your posts clearly show that you will support Zach no matter what. He isn't taking stupid risks and turning the ball over, but he also is still slow to his reads, is in a system that is designed to be 1-2 reads and done, and he isn't seeing the field. He seems to thrive in the 2 minute drill; but that is one read and done. He always looks best in the 2 minute drill but we can't play the entire game like that.
It's not that I don't see the talent (I've said from day 1 he has a talented arm and is athletic). I asked because my POV may be a bit jaded because I'm tired of the same old from him and I don't see improvements in the areas that I've questions with him from day 1 (can't read a defense, can't anticipate a throw).I'm trying to keep it in perspective. Can’t argue this at all, your spot on!Honestly, Zach makes a few good throws a game (always has), and he plays a good game from time to time (he had a few last year). But I don't get excited or feel hopeful from that because that has always been the MO with him. There just isn't any consistent improvement and forward progress.
Thats an easy answer...Nope!Here's where I see Zach right now. He is playing like a rookie with a lot of promise, but with mistakes that need to be rectified. The problem is, this is his third year.
It's honestly as if the first two years of his career never happened. That said, if we DID throw out his first two years, right now, I think we would all be somewhat encouraged about the trajectory. But can the team afford to put its faith in a second contract into a kid who looks like he finally reached his rookie season in his third year?
It’s still a lot of season left for him to prove us all wrong. I hope he does but he probably won’t!Here's where I see Zach right now. He is playing like a rookie with a lot of promise, but with mistakes that need to be rectified. The problem is, this is his third year.

Slight improvement, but still not close to what you should expect in year 3. He has had multiple games right there given to him by the defense and has flopped or fumbled. The Jets should have destroyed the Broncos, but Zach's inability in the red zone is killing this team. I hope he keeps improving his trade value. It's' funny how some of the 'experts' on TV see Wilson vs the experts on this forum. He is clearly much improved over what we saw his first two years. I remember folks here with me being one of them, who were extremely frustrated/angry about his inability to complete the simple short passes. That seems to be a thing of the past. His touch and accuracy there is now what you'd expect from an NFL QB. His progressions have also improved, not to where he should be, but clearly better. What really haunts ZW is holding the ball too long. When he gets rid of the ball quickly, he's very good but falls off the table when he holds it too long. I'd like to see his stats that shows % of throws in less than 2.5 seconds from the last two games to earlier in the season and last two years. My guess is that the number has flipped. If that continues to improve, we may have judged the kid prematurely.
I can definitely agree with you that he isn't putting as many balls in the dirt! His short area accuracy has been much better this season. That being said, IMO any QB who can't hit a 5 yard gimme should have never on the field to begin with (those are gimme throws). It's' funny how some of the 'experts' on TV see Wilson vs the experts on this forum.
