Does the Zach change start now???

The answer is no. I need to see him stack 3 or 4 games together. We have all seen him play a decent game once in a while…… but he has never been able to stack 3 or 4 straight. Ask me after Philly …

I see that the jury is still out here. This year's plan was for him to sit and watch. It's a new system and coach, plus this is The Aaron Rodgers Show with modifications. They kept him around because they see him as the future. That's still the case but he's making a case for him eventually taking over. I believe in him, growing pains and all.

I don’t think anyone here is saying we’re set at QB for the next 10 years with Wilson, but Sunday night gave us a glimpse of what he is capable of. IF he continues with the improved play through the remainder of the season then maybe we have what the brass envisioned when they drafted him. I hope that is the case and we can continue to add pieces around him instead of starting over. It’s not that I’m in love with the player, it’s just that it would be best for the team. If he reverts back to bad Zach then we start over, simple as that. In the meantime I’m rooting for him.

Agreed! It’s not easy to say I’m rooting for him but I actually am. I’m not expecting him to turn this around but I am hopeful that he can.

We’re keeping it all in perspective here TCT! Zach has given us three years of horrible play pretty much. He showed slight signs here and there of potential but nothing really to hold onto. Not that I can remember anyway. This here would be the game where he left us saying DAMN, maybe the kid can play this game.

Now that I’m thinking of it, there was a game his rookie year against the Titans, where I thought he was pretty impressive. Overall, Zach hasn’t given us anything positive really to hold onto. So I don’t believe any of our opinions on the kid has changed. This very Sunday he can go right back to what most of us think, straight trash!

Personally, he’s going to have to show me he can do this another 3-4 straight games before I start to believe. Maybe even 5-6 games. I’m just saying that I have noticed a difference this year and that Chiefs game was pretty damn impressive. Even in a lose, it was and I’m just giving credit where credit is do!
Keep in mind Darnold had 5--6 better games than Zach's career night, Geno hag games where he was twice as good and Sanchez probably close to a dozen better games. All busts.
Lots of over reaction to 1 good game. Key word being good. Not great. Avg for any other team.
Personally I have to take the show me more approach. Continue to improve and consistently play well, eliminate mistakes and improve the accuracy. Throw some guys open so not every catch has to be difficult.
I'm hoping he can do just that, but until he does I can't get overly excited about a loss or excuse the unforced game ending fumble.

If we can get average QB play from Zach or any QB, this team can win 10 at the least. They still can be that, if Zach can get his shit together but can he? Asking any QB to give you average QB play isn’t asking much at all. I mean they are all on NFL teams.

This obviously doesn’t mean that every QB can do that but they should be able to, otherwise why are they even in the NFL. So hopefully he can continue on this. Consistency is where it’s at, at this point. If he can do that then this team can win. Problem is he has never been consistent in a good way.

Ofcourse with Aaron this team would have been even better than a 10 win team but that’s not what we have now. So they have to depend of Zach now. Hopefully this past Sunday night was a sign of better things to come. Stay tuned because this Sunday evening it’s showtime!

You bring up a good point here (not the 10 wins LOL, I think that is already moving out of reach), but that almost every team in the league seems to have a competent backup. Yet here we are, holding onto hope that Zach one day can be that???

I get it. We used a #2 draft pick on him, so everyone desperately wants him to pan out. But what does someone have to do to convince everyone that "they just aren't the right person for the job"???

We used a high draft pick on Vernon Gholston (#5 if I remember correctly). The dude was all world talented, looked the part, played well in flashes, but was NEVER the Lawrence Taylor or John Abraham that everyone wanted him to be. We moved on and no one fussed, no one bitched, most were just like "good riddance". So why the complete double standard with Baby Boy Zach??? Where is all of this unwarranted loyalty coming from??? This is a results business, yet we are using a completely different viewpoint for this one and sole player on the roster.

Unless we have a ton of Zach Wilson & family burner accounts on here; I simply cannot understand where all of the unearned support and personal vitriol keeps coming from. Several users launch personal attacks for people stating facts. I just don't get it.

I would like to think we are all Jets fans here and want what's best for the team (not an individual player). I personally liked the Mims pick, but dude didn't work out. He never put the work in and refined his route running, and just tried to live off of his athleticism. Yes I wanted him to get a chance and to move on from Corey Davis. The second we traded him, it was c'est la vie!

If Zach gives us the best chance, so be it. If there is someone else on the roster that gives us a better chance "then put them in the damn game". We aren't paying to watch the developmental league! Send them to the CFL for that shit. Decisions need to be made in "what is in the teams best interest", it should never be "what is in this or that individuals best interest".

Zach showed improvement the last game, he played an efficient game, and he didn't make the really bad mistakes (the fumble was costly, but hey he took his eye off the ball for a second and it wasn't a good snap. I can't blame him at all for that one). Now that being said, I didn't see a QB ripping the defense apart and attacking the other team. What I saw was a good gameplan that keep him within 1-2 reads, then checkdown if you have nothing. It worked well with him and he played a heckavu game (prime time, lights on, he didn't collapse under the pressure). But I'm asking everyone, is that the measure, the barometer for success? Zach has had good games in the past (not every game is a stinker), so is everyone happy holding onto hope that mediocre to average play is sufficient to keep him behind center and running this offense?

Watch the film. These receivers have been open all season. This just happen to be the first game Zach was hitting them.

The snap was good, Wilson had it secured, brought his hands down and hit his left knee on his back peddle. It's 💯 on Zach.

The snap was a little low and to the left, he just about had it and took his eyes off of it, which caused the fumble. Mental error but that snap wasn't on point either. It is what it is LOL

Plus there was a slight bump in the turf, and the line judge hit him in the back....😂

Yeah we watch receivers and RB's do this all the time (take their eye off the ball and try to make a move before they secure it). I can't beat anyone up too bad for doing that, everyone on the offense does it from time to time LOL

Can't argue anything that you're saying, none of it! Problem is Gholston for example, he was drafted #5 but he was a DE. Zach is a QB, the most important position on the field for any team. With that said, it hits 10 times harder when the team misses on the QB. That was the same case when they missed-on Sanchez and Darnold. San Francisco would be feeling the same thing if they didn't have Purdy. They even traded up to get Lance, so that would have hit them even harder if they didn't have Purdy.

Jets fans do want what's best for the team, we just want that to be the QB that they drafted, LOL! It's hard to let go of that when you have no other options to go to. Yes, we had A-Rod but you see how quickly that ended. If Rodgers was still with us and doing the Rodgers MVP thing, Jets fans wouldn't give a damn what happened to Zach. It just is what it is but here we are dealing with Zach again and in the opinion of the CS and GM, he's our best option. I guess we'll soon find out if that is true or not!

To be honest, If Zach hadn't played decent the other night I think most fans would be completely done. A good quarter and a drive has sucked many fans back in. To me, his progression has to be top 12 QB level for the rest of the season. If it's not, then hopefully some other team will give us a high pick for him.

It will be an absolute gift from God and a miracle if he preformed like that. Best I think we can hope for is an above average QB the rest of the year. He has the arm strength and mobility to be an all world QB. I think we can all agree on that! He just doesn’t have the smarts to be that all world QB. That messes up his ability to read defenses, make quick decisions and be accurate with the ball. Throw receivers open, anticipate, be consistent etc-etc… If he can manage to grasp that part, sky’s the limit for the kid. Being that this appears that will never happen for Zach, at best you’ll get your wish!

So true. That one good game has a lot of us (me included) back in the promised land. You could hear no 20 times in a row but as soon as someone says yes that is the only thing we hear. Human nature.

Coaching makes all the difference. Whether that's from another player or the OC. Rodgers has made a difference. Maybe Hackett let him play free last week. Not sure if it's not enough of a difference. I said they needed to let him play free and sink or swim. I thought he would sink. He treaded water which is an improvement for Zach. The good thing is we will know this year whether to go for the 5th year or move on. I will continue to say if Zach makes this turn around it will be one hell of an NFL story someday.

Zach change? Lol. Yeah especially when the Friggin Chiefs are hitting on ALL cylinders and MANHANDLING the Jets D then suddenly suck. Mahomes telegraphs two int's and probably would have thrown a 3rd if Mosley wasn't so surprised it came right too Him.
No I think it was a matter of the Chiefs letting up on the Pedal rather than the Jets Coaching staff "making adjustments.' Or Zach "becoming " lol. They were out coached and out played in the 1st quarter, by a lot. Wasn't even close.
Let's not forget the gift points they were given.
I think Zach reverts to that Paperboy we all love, who throws right at your feet against the Broncos. It would Surprise the Shit outta Me if He plays that well again.
