If that was the case, wouldn’t other teams be having the same issues on our turf? Is it something as simple as proper stretching, or shoes? Training staff incompetence? Whatever the case, it needs to be figured out quickly.

Lot of it is just a freak injury. Look at Cousins. The fact that these athletes are so much stronger now sets them up for ligament injuries. PED use also makes them way stronger than ligaments can handle.

I suppose, it seems way too common though. Thought that PEDs were tested much more thoroughly than before but these guys are way bigger, faster, and stronger than before. Also, these injuries aren’t or at least don’t appear to be from running or cutting at incredible speeds, or anything requiring great strength, especially when you see the Rodgers and Cousins injuries. That looks more like stretching issues. What do I know I’m just a CPA behind the keyboard

Rodgers happened because it was already weakened from training camp. Then he was in a weird position with a heavy load landing on him. Cousins was just a push off. I think and know better training from the strength staff could limit these injuries.

AVT's was on the road, otherwise I would say it was almost entirely on the turf.

And we can’t forget the curse. It rears its head in many different ways apparently.

This. Hell the punters were slipping on their plant leg all game. Hell with the number of punts in the game I'm surprised none of those guys were injured. I'm pretty sure the rain combined with the poor condition of the field contributed to the injury parade on Sunday.

Reminiscing, but remember some of the early artificial turf fields? They looked like green spray painted parking lots. Eagles stadium comes to mind. Amazingly no one died on them.

Is it the sliding or ‘catching’ that causes most of the injuries?

Just a warning to you guys. Watching a Jet game can be dangerous too. I got up off the couch to get a beer during Sundays game and tore my achilles opening the beer drawer on my fridge.

be safe. Avoid watching Jet games.

it’s also better for your heart

Phucked if I know. Plant leg injuries or its equivalent are a "mystery". Lol
I've suffered knee injuries both ways, although I think the slipping is a less serious issue when the muscles (quads and other supporting structure) are properly stretched and strong.

I think Michael Irvin was almost paralyzed on that field.

The achilles is the strongest tendon in the body. It is also one of the most overused tendons since it is used in almost every lower body movement. Shoes affect this tendon so it's safe to assume an artificial surface does as well. It can handle an extreme amount of force. I will stand by better training of this tendon, feet and ankles would make a huge difference.
