I'm not sure where the Siemian love affair comes from. He won the Jets starting job way back, but has apparently been poor in recent years. The Vikings could have taken him from our PS but traded for Dobbs instead.
I don't believe anyone thinks Siemian is going to be a world beater and the answer for us. But that being said, throughout his career he has shown that he is a serviceable starter, and an average NFL QB. Right now with Zach we have "the worst starting QB in the league". Moving from worst to mid-pack is an improvement any which way you look at it

Trouble is, nobody in the NFL thinks Siemian is mid-pack any more. He is the #3, behind Boyle. We signed him because he doesn't give us 'a better chance to win' than Zach, and therefore doesn't create a controversy. Just think of the heat there would be from the fans and media if we'd signed Wentz or Kaepernick!

BTW I notice that Brock Purdy has been purdy awful in the last two weeks and the 'Niners may be regretting betting the house on him. Will we see Slingin' Sam soon?

Fair enough, but I think most feel like the CS is forcing this little pet project named Zach down everyone's throats for better or worse. We saw first hand last season what the offense looked like swapping in another QB. I'm pretty sure this is the reason most are clamoring to get Zach back on the bench and lets see what someone else can give us.

Purdy has been struggling and from the looks of it, it seems like they are asking him to do more. Last season he seemed to play in the flow and they leaned heavily on the running game and short passing game, and now they seem to be asking him to throw it down field more. Maybe defenses have figured him out, we will have to see.

I wouldn't argue that the CS are all-in on Zach. It was Zach's play last season that IMO fuelled the Aaron Rodgers gamble that now has the franchise 'Waiting for Godot'. It is part of the Rodgers gamble that we retooled our receiver room with old guys who can't get separation. Now if we got someone better than Zach and he did a good job it would create a problem when (if) the Messiah returned in December. I have problems believing that Rodgers won't get injured again.
