Roster Breakdown Moving Forward

Hopefully Rodgers can come back and be as good as he was his last year at GB. Even though that was considered a down year for him, it would be all world for us. Those kind of stats on this team means a 6-4/7-3 record at this point and a 10-11 win season this year. That’s why they should keep him. If he is still the Aaron Rodgers we know of, he can definitely help this team win.
He's not.

Chuck Clark is a free agent we traded for him BUT his contract is up, he'd likely get offers to play elsewhere like Philly or 49ers and like Ashtyn Davis he is also gone.

Mind you am not inept I know what I wrote and stand by it 1000%
You are correct. I forgot Clark was on the last year of his deal when we traded for him. my bad…

Well, we'll see because they’re definitely not getting rid of him anytime soon. He’ll be here another year or two at least!
That's what I'm afraid of. Two years until we can start to build a competitive football team, during which our talented young players may decide to do a Jamal Adams and work their ticket off of this dismal franchise.

We weren't able to build a competitive team without Rodgers. We only seem to be able to build the defense, and our current regime just seem oblivious on the offensive side. I'd rather have Rodgers out there for a season or two (who can pretty much run the offense sans a coach) because it's extremely clear that our coaches cannot get the job done.

That’s very possible but it’s a chance they have to take. Rodgers ain’t going no where unless he decides to retire. Otherwise, he’ll be here a year or two at least. Drafting a 1st or 2nd rounder at QB makes sense, if he’s the right guy but that NEVER seems to be for the Jets. So get that quality vet back up and draft a 5th rounder or worse QB developmental project. Build this team up around Rodgers with a quality oline and a few more young weapons. Hopefully the young weapons we have now decide to stay.

Let Ulbrich be the HC and Rodgers run the offense for one season in 2025 after he comes back this year and ruptures both achilles at same time and misses next year.

I wouldn't blame them for leaving. We all want to leave.

I would assume the majority of these guys will be gone. Cook/Lawson/Brown I think are locks for walking (Brown needs to retire already)

That's the problem. We all assume certain guys will be gone, but JD keeps them around.
JD is NOT a money guy, nor is he a talent guy lol. But when it came to give players contracts he gave player friendly contracts. So they are getting paid but the team is screwed if they wanted to trade or release them it would cost the team guaranteed dollars.

End of the day, Lawson is gone because he was a bridge player signing after they drafted two edge guys in JJ and McDonald. At the same time they are hoping to keep Huff but a reasonable price tag. Jefferson and Thomas are both likely to return because those two are Saleh's guys. Even Al Woods could come back on another one year deal.

Clark is still in his prime and unless he gets a bump in salary he wont be back. Ashtyn Davis is also likely to test free agency even though he shows flashes of ability. Whitehead was courted by this regime and has done nothing but continue to stack bills for a new contract with very good play.

Mekhi Becton now is inline to get a new two year deal to be the team's left tackle, but they also will be able to continue to develop Carter Warren as his backup or replacement if injured.

Tippman is the center moving forward.

Alijah Vera Tucker SHOULD replace Laken at LG because Becton and AVT work very well together.

It is the right side we have to worry about, Wes Schezter is under contract for next season so RG is technically sewn up need to draft another RT and let Max Mitchell be the backup RT.

Breece and Izzy are likely the one two punch out of the backfield. Expect the team to sign a rookie free agent to join the backfield do not expect them to draft a player.

Uzomah is gone, BUT do not expect us to draft another tight end just yet. With Conklin, Ruckert and Yeboah even Kuntz they will say they feel confident with this group, eh.

Bryce Hall should be back on a moderate two year deal just bc he can be that spot starter due to injury on either DJ Reed or Sauce.

At linebacker, Barnes will take a jump from year one to year two. We may need to draft someone like NC State LB Payton Wilson.

free agency could be interesting this year.

JD has to find a way to keep huff.
Going into next season with Becton and AVT as the starting tackles would be career suicide for Douglas. Neither has shown the ability to stay on the field. Rodgers is older and more vulnerable than he has been on his career. Can they really go into next season with out upgrading the O line? I don't think so.

Doesn’t matter as they will all get injured next season too

We can upgrade it, but whoever we upgrade to will get injured

I still think Becton and AVT are a good tandem. Put both on one side together but make sure to have quality depth. We have one of the two needed maybe two if you consider Wes as that veteran backup guard/center

They are a good tandem. Put them on any other team and they will be great

as @butterscotch showed the other day, we are the inverse of the cheatahs. Players leave them and suck. Players come here just to suck
