JD is NOT a money guy, nor is he a talent guy lol. But when it came to give players contracts he gave player friendly contracts. So they are getting paid but the team is screwed if they wanted to trade or release them it would cost the team guaranteed dollars.

End of the day, Lawson is gone because he was a bridge player signing after they drafted two edge guys in JJ and McDonald. At the same time they are hoping to keep Huff but a reasonable price tag. Jefferson and Thomas are both likely to return because those two are Saleh's guys. Even Al Woods could come back on another one year deal.

Clark is still in his prime and unless he gets a bump in salary he wont be back. Ashtyn Davis is also likely to test free agency even though he shows flashes of ability. Whitehead was courted by this regime and has done nothing but continue to stack bills for a new contract with very good play.

Mekhi Becton now is inline to get a new two year deal to be the team's left tackle, but they also will be able to continue to develop Carter Warren as his backup or replacement if injured.

Tippman is the center moving forward.

Alijah Vera Tucker SHOULD replace Laken at LG because Becton and AVT work very well together.

It is the right side we have to worry about, Wes Schezter is under contract for next season so RG is technically sewn up need to draft another RT and let Max Mitchell be the backup RT.

Breece and Izzy are likely the one two punch out of the backfield. Expect the team to sign a rookie free agent to join the backfield do not expect them to draft a player.

Uzomah is gone, BUT do not expect us to draft another tight end just yet. With Conklin, Ruckert and Yeboah even Kuntz they will say they feel confident with this group, eh.

Bryce Hall should be back on a moderate two year deal just bc he can be that spot starter due to injury on either DJ Reed or Sauce.

At linebacker, Barnes will take a jump from year one to year two. We may need to draft someone like NC State LB Payton Wilson.

free agency could be interesting this year.

Schweitzer is a PS caliber guy, if he has the RG position sewn up then the Jets are stitched up. I'm guessing they'd rather play Tippmann or McGovern there. We can't have a guy on skates at RG AND Mitchell getting folded back at RT. We need new better players at these positions, it is no good rearranging the deck chairs and pretending all will be well.

Carter Warren was a turnstile last week too. He is clearly not ready to be playing significant time at tackle. Hopefully he can develop, but he looked god awful out there last game.

Apparently, still listed on the PS according to the official site, I don't think he has even taken one snap since signing in late October lol gotta love the Jets man.

I still think Becton and AVT are a good tandem. Put both on one side together but make sure to have quality depth. We have one of the two needed maybe two if you consider Wes as that veteran backup guard/center

Becton has been terrible this season. He can't pass protect , has been a penalty machine and his run blocking has been equally bad. Have not been able to run behind him all season. And he has been getting beat quickly and cleanly so we can't even blame the QB for holding the ball to long. He is not worth the price of the franchise tag. Will he take a 1 year prove it deal. $9-10 million? Some team will offer him more hoping he reaches his potential but I think his knees are done and he will remain sup par.

I have a question for the more technically astute (people who know what they are talking about), is there a disconnect between OL personnel, OL coaching, and offensive scheme? It looks as though to my untrained eye that we are trying running plays that where we either don't have the proper OL types (road graders) or the technique to pull it off. Thoughts?

We just have bad players playing OL which means we have a bad GM.

In my humble opinion, I don't think it is that simple. But, this is a forum of people's opinions and I respect yours, just don't agree 100%.

8 sacks and a safety allowed.
Avg time for pressures and hits allowed 1.7 seconds. (League Avg 2.3 seconds)
Most penalties amongst tackles, 2nd most accepted .
Our backs avg 2 ypc behind Becton, 4.3 yards ypc behind the RTs we have been rotating all season .
Our backs are hit 3.5 times more often behind the LOS behind Becton than the RT of the Day.

Can’t say much after that performance on yesterday . His play seems to be getting worse as the weeks go by. I wonder if he’s hurt but they have no better option. I would love to see what they do if Carter Warren was healthy.

Thought the same thing regarding possibly playing through injury. It’s been a pretty dramatic drop-off. Maybe he’s spent since he hasn’t played in two years. So much for excuses.
