And you know whose fault it is that everyone realizes the value of o line now? The fucker that stood in one spot untouched for 25 years. People watched that and realized.

and that asshole is now out there mouthing off about how the nfl is becoming flag football. Are you freaking kidding me? From the guy that cried for a flag anytime a play didn’t go his way for 25 years. He did play flag football in the nfl. The unfair thing was that everyone else had to play tackle
I agree but the Jets wave a white flag

I have a hard time believing that Rodgers would want to return for next season considering the course of events.

With that said, installing a deep dl rotation so that you can close out a game when leading in the 4th quarter and marrying it with an offense that can't score points is not just awful...it's amateurish. And it's also grounds for termination.
On the other hand, player development on defense has been great. There isn't one right answer regarding off-season changes. But there is one wrong answer...stay the course without any significant changes in the coaching staff.
The offense needs help as it did last season. As much as I didn't like MLF, I was ok with bringing in an offensive minded assistant hc. I think I am for this year as well. Clearly Hackett is in over his head and Saleh at this time is not the hc that can bail out the oc.

Not opposed to firing Saleh either. It was a stupid ukfen plan with the d-line.

This is a great point! The defenses strengths come out when playing with a lead, but we can't score any damn points so it minimizes the effectiveness of the front four, and constantly gets the LB's exposed in the middle of the field.

Saleh looks like a defeated man. He has no answers and still doesn't seem to understand that he put the team in this position (with the help of JD). The struggles of the are a direct reflection of how Saleh wants them to play (low risk offensive football that doesn't spread the field or open it up because the goal is to not lose games and let the defense win it)!!

The system isn't going to work, and with how they are playing, ignoring LB & Safety is getting exposed on this team. The offense has to put up points and stop asking the defense to spend 3/4 of the game out on the field

Watching the Cowboys play and just thinking about another Jets blunder was not hiring McCarthy and hiring Gase. He even wanted to coach Darnold. Same ole Jets.
One thing to consider in this though, McCarthy has had his ups and downs and has been viewed as not coaching the team as up to expectations. I don't believe he would have survived Woody and the fans here! They would have prematurely forced him out (ala Eric Mangini, ala Rex Ryan)

Woody has a slow hook probably because he'd rather drink tea with the queen than live in an NFL world.
Then again, money didn't come easy to him, he had to be born into it!

I agree fans and this organization would crush him. He has done a great job with Dak. This guy is playing MVP football.

I'll never forget McCarthy on TV literally saying he wants to coach the Jets. But what do they do? Hire Kotite 2.0. after he burned down all bridges within a 30 mile radius of the Miami franchise.

This is such a colossal mess! Jets or Woody needs to handle this in one way or the other:

1. Run it back one more time with Joe D, Saleh and A-Rod. Use FA and those draft picks to build up the oline and get more offensive weapons. Trade down if they have to for more quality picks. Don’t draft a QB until the later rounds, like round 5 or worse and let him learn from Rodgers for a year or two.

This is probably the best financial decision and ofcourse it will make Rodgers happy. For us fans, who cares about that at this point?

2. Clean house and start all over. Cut our losses with Rodgers and pay him to retire. He’ll probably retire anyway if everyone is fired. Draft a QB with that top ten pick and build this oline, hopefully correctly this time. It will be another 3-4 year rebuild but when have the Jets NOT been in this type of situation anyway!

Decisions, decisions, HUH!!!

If you look at Robert Saleh’s demeanor in his latest pressers and the way he fake smiles when asked certain questions, he gives me the impression of someone who has been told that he won’t be back next season.

The question is "who the fuck would want to coach this mess?"

Are you kidding. There’s a million candidates who appear to know exactly what it takes to orchestrate a winning franchise. Some in here posting , some commenting of other forums and a ton in blogs and podcasts.

Saleh runs the Defense. Our Defense would not be that good without Saleh. He needs a qualified experienced OC. Not an idiot like Hackett.

Saleh seems like he is just running out the string. Welcome our new coach…… Brandon Staley (that seems about right to me ). LOL

Problem is I think he had one in Baby LaFleur . This fan base just (and justifiably) has little to no patience anymore. Coach comes in an win the first year we build him a statue with noticing the cracks in the foundation. Coach comes in and doesn’t win right away we run them out on a rail without noticing the structure that’s being built .

Let’s say we fire everyone and hire us an offensive minded HC. First time he’ll do is get to work on fixing the offense while neglecting the defense. The offense starts to improve and the defense falls off. Pretty soon we’re scoring points but can’t stop a nose bleed .
This team has a foundation, and it’s built on defense . We have not had the best luck faith our offensive additions but we have excellent pieces that we can build around.
Sometimes in life you have to take a couple steps back before you can improve.
We should stay the course and continue to improve the offensive talent while strengthening the defense.
Tinstar has spoken .

I’m talking about Bill Cowher. He was mediocre at best his first few years (if I remember correctly) but soon enough turned around. The Steelers have only have three HCs in 40 years or so.
His first 6 years were playoff years.
First year had home field advantage and 3rd year won a Superbowl. I'll take that mediocrity all day over what this regime is putting out.

Was Cowher really that great straight off the back? I don’t remember it that way. I thought he struggled his first 5-7 years and then turned it around. WOW!
