Well getting a better draft pick would be better. Players not tanking is also a fact. JD missing on picks is also a truth. No need to be amazed. I always spout the truth and facts.

You know what else is a fact? You pounded the table for Lamar and you were right. I don't think he was ever seriously on the trading block, but Lamar is having a great injury free year.
Lamar is having a great injury free year BEHIND THE RAVENS' OFFENSIVE LINE. Fixed it for you.

Look end of the day I want the team to win. We are NOT drafting a QB this year no need for a high pick.

We will do our due diligence with the OL from my understanding there are 2 guards they are looking at intensely.

I should be back 😪 in NY area may even pick up some schools to scout. End of the day, there are a lot of moves to be made with players this off season. From what I heard they will consider trading Lazard along with several other contract year players like Laken, DJ Reed, CJ Mosley, Conklin, Uzomah, etc. Then there are players like JFM have value along with MC2, and Echols.

We have 27 free agents this year and only $16 M cap available. So some players will have to take payouts or bye bye via trade.
I'm a Brit and don't fully understand these things, but your description makes things sound desperate. Why would anyone TRADE for some of the guys on your list, particularly with them being grossly overpaid? So we have to get the payroll down by shedding some of the guys who are playing well from this losing squad. And we are apparently looking at guards when we need tackles. Sounds like we are looking at a redux of this season, with Rodgers and Wilson behind a line flanked by Becton and AVT. And when Rodgers, Becton and AVT get injured again it will be Groundhog Day, only with a defense minus the guys we have had to shed.

So this is actually multi-faceted. Teams will trade and pick up veteran players that they feel have been misused or had a down year "due to circumstances" and not so much write off players as "complete decline or bust". This is potentially why we may find a sucker for Zach "some egotistical coach believing he can get way more out of him and the problem was the Jets coaching", and also Lazard "he was serviceable but unspectacular this entire career" so this year is an outlier and probable not "expected" production from him.

Honestly I wouldn't mind keeping Lazard if we can move him into the slot next season and make him QB #3, which I feel is a much better role for him. Also looking at his skills, putting him in the slot and letting him feast against LB's and Safeties could really maximize on his skills and put him in a position where he would be extremely difficult to defend.

As far as salary cap, our situation is going to be quickly rectified there. There were guys who could/should have been cut last season but JD decided to keep them on the roster and they have been unused. Lawson is one of those examples, and fully expect him to be cut and free up that cap space. Cook/Cobb will probably be released; and if Mosley isn't restructured, I expect him to be gone as well.

I think we should get rid of all of our good players that are making big money that they earned for being good players so that we can use that money to sign players that might, I stress might, be decent players so that the teams GM won't need to get creative with the cap space. That way this rebuild of the team which was never going to be a quick fix in the first place can regress instead of becoming laden with championship players to finally win us another super bowl because if this does become a super bowl contending team they wouldn't have anything to bitch about.

Or we can continue with the 10 year rebuild.

It could, but not likely, take that long but it's not necessarily JD's or Saleh's fault either. When you add players that appear to have what it takes and they wash out, like Becton for instance who has the league record for penalties this season and he's not the only one. We all thought Becton was going to be the best LT in the league when he was drafted. There are no guarantees when you sign a player that he is going to work out. It's trial and error and that takes time. Over all this team has improved. I see it and I believe the slow to admit it guys among us see it too. I'm not throwing stones at anyone in particular Tebow, well, maybe you should duck. :D The defense struggled in this last game but that was uncharacteristic. It's a pretty damn good defense and it's getting better. The "O" line performance I'll gladly admit has sucked this season. JD has failed to fix that admittedly. But given what he was able to come up with having limited capital and quality player availability coupled with poor QB play after Rogers went down. It's not as if he hasn't tried. Players have failed to produce at a competitive level. Some of this is because the players were not what we thought they were. Some of it's because they haven't had time to develop yet, rookies, Chalk some of it up to injuries causing Saleh to have to field a new "O" line compliment for every game. This, of course, makes it difficult for Hackett to create and scheme for the players he has to work with because without some sort of continuity it's going to be different every week. I hear guys saying we should trade Mosley. That boggles my mind. He's only 31 and still playing at a very high level. He's the captain of that defense and he's what makes it tick. I'm pretty sure, I'd have to check, that he's also our leading tackler. What kind of mindset is it when you want to dissolve the glue that holds everything together and for what, another pick that might produce a decent player. I just don't get it. I believe JD will get it done sooner rather than later. You can't make a berry pie without berries and you can only bake with what's available.

Gram Leave me out of the Becton wagon. I never liked fat boy. After last week we are not getting better. A few of our stars.....Sauce should go to tackling school & use Stickum on his hands,,,,,, he is no Johnny Sample or Larry Wilson. Wilson the good one is young but he is no Fitz yet. He better improve. Our Kickers are very good. But this Def is not as good as they should be. NE played us early on & took no risks against us as Billy boy knew how to beat us. Yes, most teams are a year or two away from being good...& the Jets could be one of those teams in almost any year. But this staff bad luck or no luck does not show anything but failure. I guess we can all wait for Buffalo & the fish to age out but with The Jolly Rodgers we have one or two years or should I say four or five plays left before we wheel him out. All I can add is having Wilson as a backup QB this year...They should have been fired. After last week they should have been fired. with the OL they should have been fired, with the lack of WR,s & listening to Rodgers the should have been fired. The play calling this year they should have been fired......For taking the job in the first place they should have been fired lol. For the hell marry they should have been awarded a Tony for good entertainment, So I guess we are in turn for a great draft, Great luck & a great season. I am ready just like below

I've acknowledged the improvements, but I believe some think that outweighs the colossal failures. JD was doing a great job because he created all this draft capital and money, but then to say it was limited. Which is it? I was told JD tore it down to the studs to build a perennial winner. Well 5 years in and we can't even sniff .500. We are hitching our wagon to a 40 year old QB that had a major injury. Here is my question...how many more years does JD get when it fails next year?

:eyebrows:Guess some of us are still seeing the glass as half empty instead of half full. I cannot allow myself to condemn the staff for a player that isn't what he appeared to be. Nobody is infallible. That's OK. I still love you guys and respect the difference of opinion. Having been a Jets fan since their inception I have become tough skinned to their deficiencies and optimistic that they will someday figure it out and I believe that the plan now in play has merit just unfortunate decisions with some player selections. Good times, I believe, are closer than some think.

1) Some see the glass as shattered .

2) I agree the ball drops in three days.
a) Is that your quote from 1970? ;)

The improvements do out way the failures. Everyone knows that one atta boy cancels out four aw shits. Besides they were a .500 team at the beginning of the season before the "O" line fell apart. So.............you had a sniff. :giggle:

My dog has a sniff before he S____ too lol

Look all kidding aside that game last week should not happen in 100 years. add in the fail mary & Four snap injuries & keeping sack & taking Rodgers rejects & no backup QB ,,,,,& an OL with open borders...we are looking good
