OK gang. BULLSHIT SEASON is officially here. Enjoy all of the expert, inside info, hot tips you read BUT believe nothing unless it comes directly from the team. These sports writers even mislead everyone about the draft. Just because one of these writers or bloggers says the Jets are high on a certain player doesn't make it so. It should be enough for us to discuss what we would like for the Jets to do in the upcoming draft among ourselves even though we know we don't actually have any input. Just don't let yourself be influenced by some self proclaimed or network hired EXPERT who may or may not actually have been around football or have any more knowledge of the game than you do. Just ENJOY THE OFF SEASON GANG and don't let it stress you out.

So Gramoah, what you are saying is. We shouldn't believe the BS coming from Non football people who have NO business talking about what Jets may do come Draft time. People like: Joe (Dumb-ass) Douglas.
Almost AFA, but I'm not as down on Douglas as some of our members. In the first place player signings in this organization are made based on input from from coaches, scouts, and ownership as well. So while he makes the call it happens because he trust his co-evaluators. Also it's difficult to know for sure how well a player will perform in your teams environment until you actually try him. Has this staff made some bad decisions ? Absolutely. They've also made some pretty damn good ones. Just like any other team in the NFL, it's hit some, miss some. I see this team improving even though the "O" line has yet to show much in that sense. It isn't as if he hasn't tried but shit happens. Guys get hurt and some just don't live up to their billing. For 17 games they fielded 13, at least, different line-ups on the "O" line. That's quite a hurdle to get over. So........I'm not ready to put this staff in front of the firing squad just yet. The sports reporters however are a different story. They make up stuff, lie about their sources, make assumptions based on what they might do, and all that just to get clicks and to stir up confusion for fans.

I thought after this year you would have changed your mind.

Gramoah, I agree somewhat in what you said, but has JD gone after a top FA for the Offensive line. I'm not talking about 30 - 40 year old OT's or OG's. Just a player who will DOMINATE for 5 - 7 years. Tomlinson, too me was past his prime and was way over paid.

Nope. I'm still holding the whole group responsible. They do need to be better. I don't debate that but it's just not as easy as some think. Just because I am high on a certain player doesn't mean he will be as impressive at the NFL level or even fit the Jet's scheme. In all fairness to JD it seems pretty obvious that he relies a lot on his scouts and coaches to do the player research while he concentrates mostly on looking for prospects and handling the wheeling and dealing part of the process.

Sound doctrine.
