With the signings of Smith, Williams , and Simpson plus trade for Moses JD has given himself a lot of flexibility at #10. Both Smith and Williams fix immediate weaknesses but are one year rentals and we’ll need quality behind them. If it was me I’d grab an OT preferably the LT from PSU and hope he can sit for a year behind a healthy Smith. Same concept but he could also grab one of the top WRs, but to me that is a luxury at 10.

I agree grab an OL if they can. Still have to build for future. I think they can grab a good WR in the draft in 3rd round.

All the winning teams ( todays NFL ) use the TE line a monster . You want a future if he’s still there take him .
This could be a break out offense . Now and building .
I don’t get why everyone is so against my thoughts on this ?

I agree with you on this, but he still has gotten some of the best options available. Yes I would have preferred Mike Evans, but he was never an option.

Mike Williams IMO was the best option available, and I love the signing. If healthy he is not only a solid #2 but he compliments Garrett because he is a legit deep threat! This is the type of player we needed at the #2, and now we've addressed the major issues on offense and this will allow us to open the strategy at #1 (BPA, trade down, take OL, take WR) all are on the table now.

His game very much complements GW, which is why I think he is a great choice. Of course the ACL is a concern, but he doesn't have an extensive injury history.

He has actually been banged up a lot. Not sure you can find a healthy 7 year vet. Thats why I would like to see an OL and then a WR in the draft. Need to be prepared for these player s to be injured. JD really had one of the worst GM'ing years we have ever seen last year. He needs to learn from that.

With the exception of last year, he has played at least 13 games every year since his rookie season.

I'm not sure what "banged up a lot" is deciphered as. I think expecting 17 games a season "from anyone" isn't realistic or attainable, but he seems to have been pretty healthy throughout his career (ACL tear last season being the outlier)

Back injury. Hamstring injury. Torn ACL. Just pointing out he has had some nagging injuries which are way more concerning than an ACL.

Let's also remember he has had 60 catches twice in his career. He is a good #2 and the Jets need to draft his replacement. He does things GW can't do like high point a ball and be a red zone threat. I would love to see a speedster taken and move GW into the slot more.

do we know how much of his deal is guaranteed? all the reporting I saw was "up to 15 mill"...
