Remember old buddy...............it's a bridge QB. Just about any EXPERIENCED QB in free agency would work, except a Zach Wilson type, of course. We have Tyrod and if whoever they bring in beats him out to be the starter he can't be that bad. If they don't bring in a free agent QB we will be starting the season with ONE QB. Tyrod hasn't played a full season in like forever. I believe the Jets will draft a QB but short of a miracle, I don't expect him to start right away. Any of the names you mentioned would be acceptable as well but I don't believe we need to be overly concerned on a one year rental QB. Lighten up. Get butterscotch to bring you over a case of beer.

Me either. I lean towards brandy mostly. I think that when Glenn said we are in a win now mode it was really just a more exciting way of saying we are not in a complete rebuild mode. We are going to be as competitive as we can get with what we have to work with while constantly fine tuning until we get the roster where we really want it to be. Thus.........it might be a fun season, Tyrod is capable, especially if they add the right pieces, and then again and it might be less than fun. I'd recommend that you stock up on whatever it is that you prefer to drink just in case.

I hope they didn’t. That would be incredibly assinine. Who’s in charge ? The coach and GM, or the new qb who has never proven a thing? I’m ok if he battles it out with Tyrod, but if he’s comes in here having been promised to start, then it’s already time to fire everyone
Pittsburgh assured him he would be their starter this season, not the Jets . Jets assured him he would have the opportunity to become the starter.
How so? You don't think that the sainted Aaron is going to 'battle it out' with the backup at whichever franchise finally picks him up, do you? Sure if Fields wets the bed in training camp and preseason then Tyrod or whoever should leapfrog him, but what WOULD be incredibly asinine is to have them splitting practices and starts equally just for the sake of it. It wasn't long ago that many on here were saying that Tyrod couldn't stay healthy long enough to be starter and if he started it would be proof of tanking the season.
Besides, we don't know yet whether Tyrod will be occupied 'battling it out' with Travis or the middle-of-the-draft QB some want us to take.

nobody can know Tyrod will get injured. Did anyone know that every lineman that Douglass brought in here would be injured? I would imagine that fields is here as insurance for an injury
That's some imagination you have. Your prediction today is that Tyrod will start and the Jets have signed a backup on twice his salary as injury insurance? Of course I'm not comparing Fields to Rodgers, Fields had a winning record last year. There is a rumour in Steeltown that Pittsburgh already have a massive deal with Rodgers but can't announce it until midday today because of a technicality regarding Rodgers' Jets cut designation. If true it would make you wonder how they could offer Fields the starting job, as some say. Perhaps they were going to sign Rodgers as insurance for an injury,
