While we're all waiting for the announcement that Corley has been cut , I can't help to remember how highly Joe Douglas regarded him." The 4th best receiver in the draft ! ".
Seems his attitude and immaturity played a significant role in his failure. Corley “didn’t want to play special teams because he thought he should be a starting receiver.”
When Davonte Adams was signed, he offered20 Corley $ 20k for # 17. Corley refused, countering with a $ 120 k request showing he was also very much me first and not a team first kind of player

Come on people, let’s not be ridiculous. Every GM for every team has had hits and misses on these draft picks. Yes, maybe the Jets have had more misses than hits but all GMs do it. Our current GM will have hits and misses on some as well.

Joe D hit big on these draft picks with G. Wilson, Sauce, JJ and Breece. Breece was a monster his rookie year and the injuries took him out. He hasn’t been the same since but that’s not Joe D’s fault. Joe D hit on last year’s 1st round olinemen pick.

If I’m correct, he drafted Sherman and he is our starting LB now. McDonald was a very good draft pick. He did ALOT more good than bad here with the draft picks. It’s the FA/trades he sucked on for the most part. Hopefully this GM does more good than bad.

Douglas sucked because he too didn’t bring us a QB. If anything, we are further away today from the franchise QB than when he first was assigned the job.
Agreed but what GM did bring a QB here, truly? Other than whomever drafted Joe Broadway. We’ve had a few decent QBs that were drafted after Namath but no Hall of Famers. Richard Todd and Ken O’Brien were decent. Pennington had something but couldn’t stay healthy. Sanchez was overall over his head. Darnold, Geno, Sanchez and Wilson were all flops for us. So if your going by that standard, every GM we’ve had since Joe Namath has sucked.

Every GM has sucked. I'm neither impressed nor upset with the current GM. I will give him at least until week 2.

  • 2020:
Mekhi Becton (LT, Round 1), Denzel Mims (WR, Round 2), Jabari Zuniga (DE, Round 3), La'Mical Perine (RB, Round 4), James Morgan (QB, Round 4), Cameron Clark (OT, Round 4), Bryce Hall (CB, Round 5), Braden Mann (P, Round 6). Grade F

  • 2021:
Zach Wilson (QB, Round 1), Alijah Vera-Tucker (G, Round 1), Elijah Moore (WR, Round 2), Michael Carter (RB, Round 4), Brandin Echols (CB, Round 6). Grade F

  • 2022:
Sauce Gardner (CB, Round 1), Garrett Wilson (WR, Round 1), Breece Hall (RB, Round 2), Jeremy Ruckert (TE, Round 3),I believe JJ was also drafted in this class
  • Grade A
  • 2023:
Will McDonald IV (DE, Round 1), Joe Tippmann (C, Round 2), Israel Abanikanda (RB, Round 5). Grade C

  • 2024:
Olu Fashanu (OT, Round 1), Malachi Corley (WR, Round 3), Ladarius Henderson (G, Round 7). Grade C

  • If you dive deeper and look how much draft capital was spent for some of those picks , it's even worse.
Players like Sherman and McDonald are only starting because of Douglas missing on pretty much every FA he signed and leaving the new regime bankrupt. His roster building was beyond bad absolutely defenseless.

Sanchez would have won a Super Bowl if the front office didn't strip the roster bare. He played well in the playoffs. Had us on the cusp of the Super Bowl but Bart Scott can't wait and the defense proved that they could wait. Until the 3rd quarter to finally show up.
