We've blamed Justin Fields and we've blamed the offensive line for our offensive woes, but is Tanner Engstrand getting a free pass? Fields isn't a pocket passer and everybody said he was going to be rolling out with half field reads and running RPOs, but there he is in the pocket all the time. Sure the opposing DC is going to be telling his guys to keep Fields in the pocket but isn't it up to Engstrand to find ways of getting Fields outside?

I'm gonna say, it's hard as hell to tell if Engstrand sucks or not, because Fields is not a capable QB. Maybe if we have a decent QB back there who can run the system, then we will see if his plays suck or not.

If you watch the All-22, there are guys open all over the field, hard to say the system sucks if guys are open and the QB just can't get them the ball.

To my knowledge, they announced today that T. Taylor is starting this week. Can’t remember if it’s a rest of the year decision or for this game. I guess we’ll see what Taylor can do under Engstrand. That should give some idea!

I don’t agree with you at all about bringing in Fields. He got rid of 41-year old with a ton of bullshit and baggage and took a chance with a 26-year old with a ton of talent. He just didn’t realize that this guy isn’t a true QB. He’s a running back that can throw the ball. So because of that, he’ll never see the field like a true QB would. He’ll never react and play like a true QB can.

I’ll give Glenn a break on that. I can definitely understand where he was coming from and agree with that move. It was the right move, just the wrong guy to take the chance on and we’re all seeing it now, including Glenn. With Rodgers on this team, it would be a disaster also. Rodgers was actually on a better Jets team last year and he failed with them. So what do you think he would have done with this team? Epic failure!!!

I do agree with you that they need to start Cook and I believe Cook will get his chance. Just as long as they don’t go back to Fields. We all know that Taylor can’t stay healthy and he will get hurt within the next 2-3 games. What are they gonna do after that? They might as well start Cook at that point and see what the rookies got. I don’t think he’s anything worth talking about either but what difference does it make at this point.

Notice the difference, these are true quarterbacks that can run and throw the ball. Being that he’s not that, he doesn’t and can’t see the field and react like they do and he never will.

Aaron Glenn obviously thought or was hoping Justin Fields was this or could at least develop into being this. He took a chance and it didn’t happen. I can’t and don’t blame him for that. We move on! Obviously we won’t agree on this, so let’s do exactly that. Agree to disagree and move on!

The issue I have with this is most of us saw this and called it out when they signed him. It's not like he is a rookie! There is 3 years of film on him and we all knew he can't read the field and his critical processing is nonexistent. So what exactly did Glenn see that would have him make this ludicrous decision??

Fields is only competing with Caleb Williams for slowest time to throw, since entering the league. Luckily for him Williams came in and is just as bad.

Best post of the month. Glenn must have looked at his film from the db prospective. His eyes lit up & thought I can int this guy.
