Is Wilks getting a bad rap?

Many suggesting that Wilks should be one and done. But as DC you are responsible for the defensive play calling and selection from the players available. Are you responsible for :
- the midseason trading of your two best players?
- the rash of injuries at LB and DB? Even Woody thinks Adams shouldn't be playing.
- the apparent decision of those who are on the field to play flag football in the first quarter against Miami?

He has been fired before for being a shitty DC so he is responsible as far as I'm concerned. Good coaches can coach any type of player.

For what it's worth I haven't seen anything on the defensive side of the ball that wows me. Run defense has not been good at all really. They give up chunk plays way to often. Missed tackles are the norm. I'll not keep going on my dissatisfaction, but I think we need to consider an upgrade here. Beresford has a valid point however,...........an old farmer analogy - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Some of the poor play is on the players. We have all seen them play at times in ways that we KNOW that they were not taught. They were taught the right way, they just didn't do it the way they were taught. Why ? ? Short term memory ? Laziness ? Fatigue ? Think their way is better ? Who knows ? That's on the players as beresford alluded to but in my opinion this is an accountability problem. It's my belief that this is also a coaching problem......so...... where's that leave us ?

I'd say he is on shaky ground to say the least, so he might just be ....forked. This probably is a matter of how much influence his boss has and how he really feels about the job he has done.

Hey he has cost me twice at least the cards got rid of him after one year

The games speak for themselves.
The early games were terrible.
Play has actually improved since the trades imo.
Even with the improved play it's not a better scheme.
I think it's more of a case of players fitting the scheme they are running.
The scheme still sucks.

I think you are right. I believe that it has improved some, in a sporadic sort of way. Maybe they play better during times that they are thinking...........Damn if they will trade away their 2 best players I better get my shit together if I don't want to be the next to go. Who knows why the good decent play comes and goes ?
