So it looks like Mendoza is going to the Faiders at #1. Jints likely to be #2. If Dante Moore comes out and we want him, we need to make it clear to the Jints that if they trade their pick to another QB-needy team we will be taking Arvell Reese LB at #3. Reese is purportedly the BPA in the draft and is coveted by the Jints. And we surely need a LB.

That's what I have heard and read lately but things change at this time of year and after the latest stuff with Crosby Carroll might be on the way out.

My guess is that the raiders will take Mendoza, the Giants will take a receiver or maybe even a LB, and the Jets, without having to trade away any assets, will take Dante Moore. I would have no problem with that scenario. The one possible kink would be the Giants trading away their pick to another QB needy team. The Jets might have to make sure they get that pick. In that event the Jets will probably have to pay high for that pick. It's never fun waiting and wondering how these things will work out. We expect the worst, of course, and for good reason.

Yup, paying to move up to 2 from 3 seems like a bad investment. Now great if Jets move up to #2 (or even mathematically possible #1). But would not pay to move up

Simpson from Alabama at #18? Nussmeir at 46? Neither is my preference, but this team needs a QB but also needs more good football players

That's likely true, but, the Giants, who sit at 2, don't need a QB and likely will trade it to someone who does need a QB. The Jets, if they want that #2 QB will have to deal and the price might be high. There go our picks........................

Go get Malik Willis. He still has some potential and has played under Matt LaFleur. You have a QB with some potential and if you don't get the QB in the draft you have a true 2-3 year bridge if not more. Mariota sucks.
