I did say Carr was a possibility, looking like he is becoming more probable.
As far as Carr, he has had nothing but praise for the Jets.

I'd be ok with Carr. I did mention him as a name to watch before the rumors started but not my first pick. Not close. My choice is Cousins on a 2 year deal.Would stabilize the offense and could be a mentor for a later round QB and next years QB pick.
As long as the "bridge guy" only costs money I'm okay with some of the names mentioned expect for Carr.

You seem a bit fixated on the idea that we must acquire a 'bridge guy', but before building a bridge it is normal to have a destination. Who is this QB in the 2027 draft who is obviously the Messiah AND won't be drafted by another franchise, like Mendoza?
Seattle have just won a Superbowl (AND beaten the Patsies) with a journeyman who they acquired at the start of the season, who did just enough to keep the offense ticking over. If we can pick up a veteran who can run a competent offense, even if he costs a 2nd round or lower pick, we have a shot next year and I would rather do that than hope for a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
There is not a legitimate QB prospect besides Mendoza imo.

With the Bills and Dolphins engaged in shooting themselves in the foot, and the Patriots not as good as we thought they were, this would be a great time to be at least average, which would give us a playoff shot. We have a vastly improved coaching staff (including Glenn coaching the defense) and draft picks and cap space to bolster the squad, but it is difficult to see ahead without knowing who the QB will be. For me, if they traded for Mac Jones (and yes, this would cost a draft pick) we might be competent, and with Hendon Hooker and Zappe behind him we wouldn't be forced to draft a QB this year at all. Who better to run a West Coast offense than a guy from the 49ers? There are not many good QBs about and a lot of teams chasing them, which is why you will see reaches in the draft.

Personally, I would like to see the Jets draft Allar in round 3. Besides Mendoza and Simpson who are going round 1, I think he has the best chance to develop into a quality starter of all the other QBs in this draft.
If it hadn't been for his broken ankle, I think it was his ankle, he would be in the top of the 1st round anyway. I'd certainly give him a shot.
Guys, I hate to break this to you but we don't have a pick in Round 3.
