I read elsewhere that the Raiders had a poor offensive line and that accentuates Geno's negative traits. Be interesting to see how 'surefire' Mendoza does behind that line.

Geno was the best of a poor lot. We weren’t giving up premium picks (Rounds 1-4) for McKee or Jones only to view them as stopgaps. Cousins was never coming here, Tua flat out stinks, as does R Wilson, and Bresett is the same as Geno. That leaves Murray….. a dwarf with a poor attitude and crappy work ethic, or Wentz, a crappy teammate and always hurt. What will be interesting is to see if they pull the trigger on Simpson at 16 ….. Personally I think they will because Geno is gonna get you 7 wins or so, which will take you out of the 2027 QB Derby (barring a massive trade of first round picks), which this team can not afford to do
Come on. Are ya serious? I know its been a long time since We had a competitive guy at the position but I think even Aaron Glenn could recognize a guy playing well at the position.
No messiah. Just a cohesive Offensive unit.
Not much to ask. You would think that but its proving to be a major headache. Might be time to change the philosophy. They might just get lucky.
While I think Geno will be better than what We had I'm not sure He will get them to 7 wins. I was thinking 5 depending on the draft. I was sure they were going to go straight defense on the 1st 4 picks but now I'm not so sure.
Hopefully they draft Defense in this draft.
They could become deep at need positions, especially in the secondary.
We will see.
My worst fear is that they think they can contend and it blows up in their faces.
They almost have to draft Simpson now. I think Geno is trash. He had two decent years, but been declining last couple. Or should I say he is turning back into Jets Geno. Not sure if Simpson makes it to #16 though. If they want him they might have to take him at #2. Grab WR at #16 and then defense or guard at #33 or #44. No need to win 7-8 games which is highly doubtful and miss out on QB next year or have to trade 3 #1's to move up. So they need to take Simpson at #2 and build roster from there and let Simpson sit.
